Good evening everyone. Glad to see my fellow FReepers down at Lake Eola this evening. Forgive me, I don't remember the names of the people I met tonight, Matchett-PI was there. Hopefully the rest will log in and give their own reports of what happened.

I work just across the street from the bandstand and was able to make it out around 4:30. I have a lot of great pictures, but as of right now have no place to upload them to get them posted. If someone would like to volunteer I can email the pics to you for you to post. The Vietnam Veterans had a swiftboat on a trailer, which I got some pictures of. Plus pictures of some Kerry supporters, great posters and banners, and George W. and Laura Bush.

It was a beautiful afternoon and evening here. The rally started with the National Anthem, the Pledge of Allegiance (under God!) and a prayer led by a Pastor from Winter Park. Then, one by one, the Swifties and POW's got up and started telling their personal stories. They all had such heartfelt stories, and it was very humbling to be in the presence of such brave men. Of course some Kerry supporters showed up, the police made them stand away from the rally, but still close enough that you could hear the ingrates yelling "Kerry served" as the Swifties started speaking. The spokesman for the Swifties/POW's said that tonight we had the largest gathering of Swiftboat Vets and POW's. They spoke from around 6:00 to 7:30 and then started the movie, which I ended up not staying for to go home and take care of my husband who caught the cold I stayed home with yesterday.

Just before I left (by that time I had found my new FReeper budies) we saw the President and his wife walk by. There's a guy that lives in town that has a very strong resemblance to George W, he does appearances at events such as this one, and his wife dresses like and could pass for Laura I guess as long as you see the two of them together.

Anyway, I thought it was a great turnout and a great evening. Please add more if you were there! And if you'll volunteer to post pics email me here to make arrangements for me to send them to you.

I finally have gotten a chance to read up on html and hopefully have posted this correctly. It's been years since I did any html. There should be a link in the Body for the web page that has all the pictures I took that evening. If not it's

http://noal.homedns.org/cgi-bin/ids/index.cgi?mode=album&album=./Swift%20Boat%20Vets

and I'll try again later!
