In a meeting held on Wednesday, the Sumner County Library Board voted 4-3 to dismiss Hendersonville Public Library director Allan Morales, just weeks after Christian actor, writer, and producer Kirk Cameron headlined a story hour event at the library in February. Cameron’s story time event in Hendersonville was to promote his “As You Grow” book and part of his work with the conservative publishing company BRAVE Books to “win back Story Hour and stand up for truth and Biblical values.” Following Cameron’s appearance at the library with special guests Missy Robertson from Duck Dynasty, women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines, and...

A Tennessee sheriff’s deputy posted a photo on Facebook of a sweet note he says he received from two women at a Nashville restaurant. McDowell said they left him a note that read: “BLM, but so does yours. Thank you for your service. Breakfast paid.” Touched by the gesture, McDowell decided to thank them on social media, writing: “I want to thank the two sweet black ladies who paid for my...

WESTMORELAND, Tenn. - A string of mountain lion sightings across this area have left some residents on edge and now another sighting of the incredibly large cat has been caught on a trail camera. Eric Flitcroft owns about 70 acres of land on the edge of Macon and Sumner Counties. One of Eric’s friends uses some of the land to hunt and has a trail camera setup in the woods that is motion activated. Last week, Eric was looking through still images on the camera when in between images of deer and bobcats he spotted what wildlife official believe could...

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported the new process for licenses is being piloted at the Hamilton County Clerk's office, as well as two driver service centers in Sumner and Robertson counties. It will involve checking the identity of people who apply for or renew their licenses, and means people will leave with a paper interim license while their photo is run through a database and checked against 12 million other images. A plastic laminated copy of their driver's licenses will be mailed to their address. Lori Bullard, assistant commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, said...
