WASHINGTON (CN) - Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich says he suffered permanent injuries from biting an olive pit hidden in the sandwich wrap he bought at a House of Representatives cafeteria. He demands $150,000. The former presidential hopeful sued Restaurant Associates, which operates the cafeteria in the Longworth Office Building, its parent company, Compass Group USA, and food suppliers Performance Food Group Co. and Foodbuy LLC. Kucinich seeks damages for negligence, in Superior Court.

Democratic congressman Dennis Kucinich of Ohio has sued a congressional cafeteria for dental damage he says he suffered after biting into an olive pit in a sandwich wrap he bought there. ... The suit says the wrap "contained dangerous substances, namely an olive pit" that a consumer would not reasonably expect to find in the product served. The suit says that Kucinich suffered "serious and permanent" dental and oral injuries requiring multiple surgical and dental procedures.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — TCF National Bank sued Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke and the Fed's board of governors Tuesday, saying regulations limiting the fees a bank can charge retailers for debit card transactions are unconstitutional. A New Hampshire high school student shocked so severely in shop class that his heart stopped beating is suing his teacher, the school district and the city of Dover. Kyle Dubois and his parents claim teacher Thomas Kelley did not warn Dubois and other students of the dangers of the electrical demonstration cords in their electrical trades class. On March 11, Dubois attached an electrical clamp to one nipple while another student attached another clamp to the other. A third student plugged in the cord. Dubois was critically injured.

IOWA CITY, Iowa - A University of Iowa employee has filed a suit in U.S. District Court, claiming her conservative political views kept her from being hired by the school's College of Law.
