ACLU Sues To Stop Arizona's Immigration Law A class-action suit filed by civil rights groups argues that the measure will lead to racial profiling and violates the Constitution.

Several civil rights organizations filed a lawsuit Monday seeking to halt a controversial new Arizona law that requires local police to enforce federal immigration regulations. The lawsuit is at least the fourth filed since Republican Gov. Jan Brewer last month signed the law, which makes it a state crime to lack immigration paperwork in Arizona and requires police to determine the status of people they suspect are illegal immigrants. The federal class-action claim contends that the law will lead to widespread racial profiling, infringes on the federal government's ability to set immigration policy and violates the Constitution's 1st and 4th amendments.
"This law is shameful, un-American, it will undermine public safety and it is unconstitutional," said Lucas Guttentag, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, among the groups that filed the suit. Also named are the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People and the Asian Pacific American Legal Center.

Since Arizona's law mirrors federal, why aren't they saying the same thing about the federal law?

And the orchestrated attempt to intimidate the people and government of an entire state just fine.
The opposition is going to be disappointed when they find out the wording is identical to the federal law on the books and their case is moot.
So...it takes about 30 seconds to arrange a Federal Class Action Lawsuit to skewer Arizona for taking on the tasks the Feds abhor?
So...why is it now over two years and STILL no successful challenge to the ‘credentials’ of the anointed one in ANY Court?

However much it costs to fight these nuisance lawsuits, the cost pales in comparison to the cost of 500,000 illegal aliens........... committing crimes, mooching off the school system, taking health services..... etc.

Yup. First thing, a motion to dismiss, then a motion for summary judgment by the great state of Arizona, and if denied an interlocutory appeal to determine if all of US Code Title 8 is unconstitutional.
The UnAmerican Civil Liberties Union as usual is the bad guy. I hope they get hit with attorney fees; AZ can use them to ship their illegals to `Frisco, LA and El Paso.
I wonder, where could we find a list of corporate sponsors for the ACLU? I’m thinking this boycott stuff could catch on bigtime.
I would recommend that the State of Arizona sue the ACLU in return. Arizona would sue for damages for every day the law is delayed by the ACLU lawsuit, including the cost of the welfare fraud, insurance fraud, costs of incarceration, police costs, damages from property crimes, education costs, etc.
It’s really time that the worthless buffoons that comprise the ACLU get a dose of their own medicine. Arizona should bypass the corporate shield and sue each member and employee as well.
Now these ACLU scum buckets will go judge shopping. Working their contacts in the so called judicial community.
