(The Epoch Times)—In a rare move, all three liberal Supreme Court justices recused themselves on May 28 from a case involving a lawsuit filed against them for rejecting a previous lawsuit that sought to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. In the case, the Supreme Court turned away a longshot bid by Raland J. Brunson of Ogden, Utah, who has gained notoriety among Trump supporters for his legal activism. The case at hand is known as Brunson v. Sotomayor. The petitioner sued Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson in their official capacities for voting on...

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to say on Wednesday whether or not Hunter and President Joe Biden spoke before or after Hunter produced a public relations stunt by appearing at a congressional hearing to hold him in contempt of Congress for failing to appear for a deposition. Jean-Pierre previously said Joe Biden was “certainly familiar with what his son was going to say” at the press conference when Hunter Biden refused to appear for a subpoenaed deposition. Jean-Pierre’s statement led House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) to investigate whether Joe...

David Copperfield is taking his powers of illusion to the stars. In an interview with "Today," the magician announced the plans for his latest stunt. "I’m going to make the moon disappear," he said. "It’s taken 30 years of work, that’s literally 30 years of our lives to develop it," he said. "And there’s multiple methods to make it work, and I’m collaborating with Save the Children, an amazing organization to show the world the difference one person can make." He continued, "If one person can make the moon disappear from the sky, imagine how together we can make poverty...

A 17-year-old boy slipped and plummeted to his death from the popular new 6th Street Viaduct in Los Angeles, after climbing the bridge as part of an apparent social media stunt, according to police. The youth’s body was found at about 2 a.m. Saturday on the eastern side of the span, which has become a troubling magnet for gunplay, dangerous stunts and careless online clout-chasing since it opened about a year ago. The teen, whose name has not been released, was taken to LA County USC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore said...

Anabely Lopes wanted a child more than anything, so the 44-year-old was ecstatic when she became pregnant last year — and then devastated when doctors said her unborn child had a fatal abnormality... A new law restricting abortion access had gone into effect days earlier, and Lopes soon found herself on a plane, leaving South Florida to get an abortion at a clinic in Washington. On Tuesday, Lopes will return to Washington, this time accompanying U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address...

The Just Stop Oil climate activist group, which has been terrorising British streets by glueing themselves to roads, is accused of having “blood on their hands” after two women died in car crashes after being diverted from a bridge that activists had shut down. Two women, including mother of four Lisa Webber, died this week after traffic was diverted to the M20 motorway as a result of activists from Just Stop Oil, which drew international attention last week after two members threw a can of tomato soup on the famed Sunflowers painting by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, suspending themselves...

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) on Thursday said it was a “terrible idea” for fellow GOP governors Ron DeSantis (Fla.) and Greg Abbott (Texas) to bus and fly migrants to progressive cities in a move to pressure President Biden to address a surge of migrants at the border. “I thought it was a mistake to basically do publicity stunts of busing people from the border into other states,” Hogan said during an appearance Thursday in New Hampshire. “Gov. DeSantis, who had nothing to do with the issue … grabbed fifty people and sent them to Martha’s Vineyard as a publicity...

The Massachusetts attorney general and the federal government received letters Sunday alleging the transportation of “vulnerable” immigrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard was a “political stunt” demanding open criminal investigations. Lawyers representing some of those involved claimed their clients “were induced to board airplanes and cross state lines under false pretenses,” including promises of working opportunities, schooling for their children and immigration assistance, by people working with and on behalf of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), the Washington Times reports.

A homeless coordinator in Martha's Vineyard, the latest destination where migrants are being sent by Republican governors in an effort to bring attention to the southern border, said that the island doesn't have the resources to help them long-term and that they will eventually have to move 'somewhere else." Lisa Belcastro was speaking to reporters Thursday about the community response to the newly arrived migrants. "We don't have the services to take care of 50 immigrants, and we certainly don't have housing," she said. "We can't house everyone here that lives here and works here." Her remarks came a day...

After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis delivered roughly 50 illegal immigrants to swanky Martha's Vineyard — much to the dismay of liberals — the island community that's home to the Obamas and a Who's Who of other elites has declared the situation to be a crisis. While Democrats insist that there's no border crisis — despite a record number of got-aways, migrant deaths, and border apprehensions — their friends on Martha's Vineyard have decided 50 illegal immigrants are just too much to handle, despite being a proclaimed sanctuary. When the "Visit Martha's Vineyard" tweeted out "an update on current humanitarian crisis"...

Since yesterday afternoon the arrival of about 50 migrants, mostly of them originally from Venezuela, in Martha’s Vineyard has been one of the biggest stories in the country. The sentiment on the left has been entirely predictable. DeSantis has been vilified for “flinging” these poor migrants at one of the nicest resorts in the United States.Deeply deeply sick and dehumanizing to fling human beings somewhere vindictively.— Chris Hayes (@chrislhayes) September 15, 2022Some on the left are suggesting the Gov. may have committed a crime. The Department of Justice needs to investigate Governor DeSantis for using fraud and deception to lure people...

As word spread on Martha’s Vineyard Wednesday that a group of migrants had been flown to the island unannounced, and there was no organized plan to care for them, Tim Dobel felt like there wasn’t much that he could do. The sudden need to find shelter and medical care — not to mention the politics that fueled the decision to drop them on his community’s lap — were well beyond his control. But at the very least, he and the staff at Mocha Mott’s in Vineyard Haven could make sure they had a hot cup of coffee to keep them...

35 Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume said Wednesday on FNC’s “Special Report” that Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) is using a “publicity stunt” by bussing migrants to Washington, DC. Abbott sent busses chartered by the Texas Department of Emergency Management, carrying South and Central American migrants to the Capitol Hill office building, which houses the Washington, DC bureaus of NBC News, C-SPAN and Fox News.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday during her weekly press briefing called Russian President Vladimir Putin a "tyrant" and said it was "stunning" to see him enter Ukraine. "It's stunning to see in this day and age a tyrant roll into a country. This is the same tyrant who attacked our democracy in 2016," Pelosi said during the briefing.

Democrats plan to skip the committee vote in protest Thursday, but do not have the power to stop the nomination from advancing. They blasted Barrett during her confirmation hearings and showed images of Americans at risk if they lose Affordable Care Act coverage. Sen. Charles Schumer called her views 'out of the mainstream', while pro-choice group NARAL called for Judiciary top Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein to lose her post for showing insufficient fight in the hearings. Democrat's move is to deny quorum. It could force the panel to change its rules. 'I will move forward. She deserves a vote,' said...
