Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman came was ridiculed after a video emerged of him giving an apparently nonsensical answer during a cable news interview. Fetterman, who is running for Senate in the Keystone State, suffered a stroke in May questions about his health have lingered. “I just wanted to check in and see how you’re doing,” MSNBC host Chris Hayes asked Fetterman on Friday — noting it was the first time they had spoken since the stroke. “I’m doing fantastic. It’s not about kicking balls in the authority or anything,” Fetterman responded. The garbled response drew laughs from Republicans who...

The principal intent of campaigns is to give voice to the candidates’ positions on major issues. When casting their ballots, voters consider personality, party allegiance, character traits and other factors. In Pennsylvania’s Senate election, a candidate’s personal health has come to the fore, and the outcome could be a key in determining control of the Senate. In my experience, politicians who are not fully transparent in disclosing their health information can become vulnerable to the spread of misinformation, rumors and antics that detract from the candidate’s stances on major issues. That risk is playing out in the Fetterman-Oz race in...

Politicians often pander to their local base by invoking sports teams. Whether they’re actual fans of a team or not, they’ll often mention them because they want to latch onto the goodwill from the community. Democrat John Fetterman, who is running for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania despite having a stroke that has clearly diminished his ability to think and speak properly, tried to invoke the Philadelphia Eagles during a recent campaign event. He was so excited about it, he invoked them twice in the same sentence. Watch: VIDEO AT LINK................. There is no way this guy should get more than...

A newer-generation clot-busting drug called tenecteplase outperforms the traditional treatment for ischemic strokes in several key areas, including better health outcomes and lower costs, according to a study. Both tenecteplase and alteplase are federally approved for use in dissolving clots in blocked heart arteries. But the newer drug tenecteplase is also being used by clinicians, off-label, to treat ischemic strokes, because clinical trials in stroke suggest that it may be at least as good as alteplase and it is easier to administer. Tenecteplase is administered by a single five- to 10-second intravenous injection. The researchers compared its performance with the...

John Fetterman’s hometown paper has called on the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate nominee to release his full cognitive tests, saying that debate delays have “raised more questions.” The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s editorial board published a piece on Wednesday, calling on Fetterman and his GOP opponent, Mehmet Oz, to make their medical records available: Further delays in scheduling a debate between U.S. Senate candidates John Fetterman and Mehmet Oz have raised more questions about Mr. Fetterman’s health, including his ability to communicate and process information. He has increased his public appearances, but his speech remains halting, and he repeats key phrases like mantras....

Democrat Pennsylvania U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman once again appeared incoherent after giving a five-minute speech in Indiana County. Similar to his previous mishaps, Fetterman again confused Washington D.C. with New Jersey as he concluded his speech with a call for the voters to send him to the nation’s capital. “Eliminate the filibuster, get things done,” he struggled to say. After an awkward pause in which he appeared slightly confused, Fetterman then said, “Send us back to New Jersey. Send me to D.C. for you.” Several members of the audience could be heard chuckling upon hearing him utter New Jersey.

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman is running for US Senate, but his floundering performance on the campaign trail has left many questioning whether he is fit to run for office — or even serve in the upper chamber of the house. [cut] Democrats who attended that speech said they are becoming uneasy about Fetterman. “Some tricky, cute tweet coming at the people of Pennsylvania again and again and again, with scarcely a word on substantive issues — if that is all his brain can remember, that is unacceptable,” one Democrat told me. “He seems to think he can ride out...

NBC News went after a conservative digital strategist who posted videos show Pennsylvania Lt. Governor and Senate hopeful John Fetterman having trouble speaking while on the campaign trail. NBC accused Greg Price of doctoring in the videos, when in fact the speech issues exhibited by Fetterman are likley the affer effects of a stroke he suffered earlier this year. Price put together a supercut of Fetterman having difficulty stringing words together to form coherent sentences, but for NBC, the real issue is not whether Fetterman is healthy enough to serve his constituents, but accusing Price of "doctoring" the images. NBC...

Democrat Pennsylvania Senate candidate and Lt. Gov. John Fetterman has not formally offered to participate in a debate, Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Republican Senate candidate in Pennsylvania, told Breitbart News Saturday, surmising that his challenger is either seeking to cover up his radical left positions or lying about the state of his health. Last week, Fetterman appeared to finally cave, agreeing to debate Oz and proclaiming that it was “always our intent to do that.” However, despite popular belief, Oz said the issue has not been put to bed, as there has been no formal agreement whatsoever. Rather, his Democrat...

New research that associated having green spaces close by with a 16-percent drop in stroke risk specified that green areas give a person more than just a place to stretch his legs, but they affect the chances of suffering stroke. In a ScienceAlert report, for this new study, the adjacent green spaces were counted as those within a fifth of a mile or 300 meters from home.Data taken from the public healthcare system covering over 3.5 million adults in the Catalonia region of Spain were gathered between 2016 and 2017.While data don't reveal that green spaces are the direct reason for...

Dr. Oz is calling for Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman to participate in up to six Senate debates this month after his Democratic opponent agreed to only one in November. Fetterman has committed to 0," Oz, the Republican nominee for Pennsylvania's open Senate seat in November, wrote Thursday on Twitter. "Absentee ballots can go out September 19th," he continued. A video clip of remarks made during a Labor Day speech in Pennsylvania by U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman (D-PA) has added additional fuel to the controversy surrounding his fitness for office following his stroke earlier this year. The clip comes as Fetterman avoided the campaign trail for most of the summer and has repeatedly sought to wiggle out of having to debate his opponent, U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz (R-PA). “Send me to Washington, D.C., to send–, so I can work with Senator Casey,” Fetterman said during his speech on Monday. “And I can champion the union way...

“John Fetterman is either healthy, and he’s dodging the debates because he does not want to answer for his radical left positions, or he’s too sick to participate in the debates,” Oz said at a news conference in a small room at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel on City Avenue. “What happens if a U.S. Senator in an important state like Pennsylvania is elected, never having answered a legitimate question?” Oz asked. Joining Oz was the man he’s seeking to replace, Republican Sen. Pat Toomey. Toomey said, if Fetterman, who is recovering from a stroke he experienced in May, is...

Prominent Pennsylvania newspaper the Pittsburg Post-Gazette is raising concerns over Senate candidate John Fetterman's health following repeated criticisms from his Republican opponent, celebrity doctor-turned-politician Mehmet Oz. "If Mr. Fetterman is not well enough to debate his opponent, that raises serious concerns about his ability to serve as a United States senator," the Post-Gazette editorial board wrote. [cut] The Fetterman campaign has confirmed the lieutenant governor is attending speech therapy and "doing the hard work" to make a full recovery, according to the editorial board. However, the Oz campaign brings up legitimate voter concerns. "The Republican’s antics have given Mr. Fetterman...

President Joe Biden visited Pennsylvania for the second time in less than a week and again condemned "MAGA Republicans" in a pitch to union workers outside Pittsburgh on Monday. "This is not your father's Republican Party. This is a totally different party, man," Biden said in West Mifflin. "We have a choice. Trump and the MAGA Republicans made their choice. We can choose to build a better America, or we can continue down this sliding path to oblivion to where we don’t want to go." The president made the stop in Pennsylvania after a speech earlier in the day in...

Julie Chin, who works for the NBC affiliate KJRH in Tulsa, was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after she found herself struggling to read the teleprompter in front of her. “The past few days are still a little bit of a mystery, but my doctors believe I had the beginnings of a stroke live on the air Saturday morning. A person's blood type may be linked to their risk of having an early stroke, according to a new meta-analysis. The meta-analysis included all available data from genetic studies focusing on ischemic strokes, which are caused by a blockage of blood flow to the brain, occurring in younger adults under age 60. Steven J. Kittner, MD, MPH and his colleagues conducted the study by performing a meta-analysis of 48 studies on genetics and ischemic stroke that included 17,000 stroke patients and nearly 600,000 healthy controls who never had experienced a stroke. They then looked across all collected chromosomes to identify...

'John is healthy and fully capable of showing up and doing the work,' Katz added. On Tuesday, Fetterman said he...
