New research that associated having green spaces close by with a 16-percent drop in stroke risk specified that green areas give a person more than just a place to stretch his legs, but they affect the chances of suffering stroke.
In a ScienceAlert report, for this new study, the adjacent green spaces were counted as those within a fifth of a mile or 300 meters from home.
Data taken from the public healthcare system covering over 3.5 million adults in the Catalonia region of Spain were gathered between 2016 and 2017.
While data don't reveal that green spaces are the direct reason for stroke risk reduction, researchers have noted that the link is strong enough to warrant further examination and back up the notion that having more nature around is advantageous to human health.

They also know thatkind of living increases stress and violence and they can turn everyones utilities off far easier being many in the same building. Bas8cally your urban building doubles as a prison.
As China has so aptly demonstrated.
Correlation is not causation...
Or maybe healthier people CHOOSE TO LIVE near green spaces .
Yay. I am blessed to live in 15 heavy hardwood forest in over 1,000 acres of hardwood forest in central VA. Been here 40 years.
I love it. Few things as cleansing mentally and emotionally as a walk in heavy woods.......and I’m in it every day.
We live in a log home my sons and I built with our own hands 22 years ago with lots of glass in all directions. Wherever we look more than 7 months a year is all green.
No man is more blessed than I. Mainly by God’s gift of His Son, my wife of almost 50 years and our 8 wonderful kids.
Sheesh, we should be in the negative numbers here.
Correlation is not causation...
True. But, if you live near a wooded area, or a body of water, go there, what do you notice ?
Cleaner air, less stress, appreciation for mother nature ?
IMO
Green Spaces would be fine, but I keep hearing that Homeless and Lawless people are taking possession of such open spaces.
**Are health benefits received from having multiple house plants? I would say yes. I have at least one healthy plant in each of the 5 rooms of my apartment. Not the closets, though.
Well, maybe.....
Unless you have to mow those green spaces yourself.
Woot. Green spaces includes North Carolina Avenue. Thank you Monopoly for the health boost!
Does my front yard lawn and garden count as green space?
Arlis, you are a blessed man!
I live on land that includes agricultural farm and woodlands.
Moved here almost 30 years ago from the cesspool known as Cleveland and never regretted it.
Grow mushrooms in the closets.
Yes you are blessed.
Probably why they want to round us up and force us to live in cities.
once a year my green slaves become white spaces, and then a few months later, brown spaces
Good idea! I’ll just have to keep the freshly turned earth from touching my wardrobe is all.
And if that green space is, for example, Central Park ?
