The St. Olaf (Northfield, Minn.) professor who, in a well-read Huffington Post item, recounted tearing down McCain campaign signs has resigned. Per the Northfield News, it appears that Philip Busse was forced out. St. Olaf spokesman David Gonnerman issued the following statement Monday afternoon: "The St. Olaf College administration first learned of Phil Busse's self-admitted theft and destruction of campaign signs on the morning of Oct. 31 as a result of his posting on the Internet. (AP) Rocker Peter Frampton is wishing someone would show him the way to keep his Barack Obama yard signs from getting swiped. The Grammy winner is complaining that signs showing his preference for the Democratic presidential candidate have been stolen repeatedly at his home in the upscale and predominantly Republican Cincinnati suburb of Indian Hill.

The California Republican Party is offering a $500 reward for any information on a woman who stole a McCain/Palin campaign sign near Sacramento. Video of the woman in action is posted on youtube. The video shows the woman jump out of the van, yank the sign out of the ground then take off and head back to the van. The homeowner set up cameras to catch neighborhood dogs who were using his yard as a bathroom.

There's a minor brouhaha in Detroit, Michigan. It all started when John McCain announced that he was giving up on Michigan. Since then, one pizza restaurant has decided that it will give away a free pizza to anyone who brings them a McCain-Palin sign. The result: People (teenagers) stealing signs from people's yards to get free pizza. By the way, the owner of the pizza joint does not hide the fact that she is a Barack Obama supporter.
