Politics editor Chris Stirewalt, along with nearly two dozen digital journalists, have been fired from Fox News. Stirewalt is listed by the New York Times as one of two “senior leaders” exiting the network as Fox “tries to lure back viewers who balked at its coverage of the 2020 election and its aftermath.” The other is Bill Sammon, Fox News’s longtime Washington bureau chief, who told staff that he would be retiring at the end of the month. Chris Stirewalt, the Fox News political editor in charge of the decision desk which called Arizona for Joe Biden before the polls closed on election night was laid off on Tuesday. According to the Washington Post, Stirewalt, alongside approximately 20 other Fox News staffers were let go today.

I really dislike Chris Stirewalt and it's compounded because they allow him to be an election analyst on Fox News. He never has a favorable view on Republicans and anything positive for the party causes him to look absolutely constipated. Tonight he jumped the anti-republican shark with his crazy explanation of why the GOP has an historic favorability rating and is viewed more positively than the Democrat party. Fox News Digital Politics Editor, Chris Stirewalt, said yesterday reporters should stop covering President Donald Trump’s rallies. He also advocated for ending the televised White House Press Briefings, bashing the Administration. “I submit, we should stop having reporters at those Trump rallies. I watched this how today. It is a bomb ... in the pejorative sense. Totally anti-Trump, no pretense at all about being partially objective. She sat there and laughed along with the glib fast talking Hillary operative as they laid down lie after lie after lie. Lie through mischaracterization, lie through omission and just plain lying for lying sake. I've noticed this new Tactic from the Clinton camp. Everytime they say something bad and insulting about Trump, they Yuk it up laughing at their lies and giggling like its the Gods honest truth.

The NYT reports that Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will today announce plans to slash the United States Army’s fighting force to its smallest level since before World War II as well as eliminating an entire class of attack aircraft, including the fearsome A-10. Obama officials say that the smaller fighting force reflects budget realities and an end to large-scale foreign wars.
