Integration into the job market for migrants has become a major ongoing task for the German government but in one town migrants are refusing to work entirely. One of the major issues of the migrant crisis is Germany and elsewhere has been the economic impact the massive wave of migrants will have in Europe. While some experts initially were optimistic about a potential vast new source of skilled labour, most economists have come to the conclusion that the migrants who have arrived are for the most part unskilled and poorly educated. Yet in own Saxon town, they have moved...

According to research by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the Munich gunman was proud to have been born on the same day as Hitler and hated Turks and Arabs. The 18-year-old gunman who killed nine people before killing himself in Munich on Friday, was proud to be born on April 20th 1998 and thus share a birthday with Adolf Hitler, the FAZ has been told by people close to the investigation. David Sonboly, who was born to Iranian parents in Munich, was allegedly proud to be German and Iranian, which he considered to make him “Aryan,” people who knew him told...

Another shooting in Europe yesterday, this time in Germany, shocked the media into action. When news broke of an active shooter who began killing people in front of a McDonalds and then moved inside to the Olympia Shopping Center in Munich, it looked like another ISIS attack. But something was different this time. Eyewitness reports began trickling in indicating that the shooter was heard complaining about refugees, so the media shifted gear, dropping the usual journalistic reticence when it comes to discussing a killer’s motives. Many seemed certain that this killer was finally part of the always-expected, but never-quite-materializing, backlash...

The BBC has unilaterally chosen not to report the Munich attacker’s full name, in what appears to be an attempt to scrub any Muslim or Islamic heritage link to its coverage of the incident. Most sources at this point suggest that Ali David Sonboly – the Munich attacker who targeted children and killed nine yesterday – is not connected to radical Islam, but the BBC has gone to extraordinary lengths to try to keep any reference to his heritage out of its coverage, opting to name him only as “David Sonboly”. Other news organisations including the Wall Street Journal, Independent,...

The events unfolded in predictable fashion: a young Iranian Muslim opened fire at a shopping mall in Munich while screaming “Allahu akbar,” and initial mainstream media reports were that the gunman was a “right-wing extremist,” lashing out on the fifth anniversary of the Norwegian madman Anders Breivik’s massacre, while screaming out his hatred for foreigners. As it happened, it was someone else screaming his hatred for foreigners at the jihad murderer, not the other way around, but once again, the lie had gotten halfway around the world before the truth had a chance to put on its shoes. And the...

Video has emerged appearing to show the gunman who shot dead at least nine people in Munich involved a furious argument with a witness, shouting “I am German!” and complaining of being bullied. The shooter, who was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, was identified by German police as an 18-year-old with dual German and Iranian nationality. He had no criminal record. who killed nine people in Munich was obsessed with mass shootings and had an obvious link to Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik, German police say. Police who searched the 18-year-old's room say they found written material on attacks. The gunman, who later killed himself, had a 9mm Glock pistol and 300 bullets. Police are investigating whether he may have lured his victims through a Facebook invitation to a restaurant. He is suspected of using a fake account under a girl's name to invite people to the McDonald's restaurant where he launched his attack.

For several hours earlier today, a report made the rounds on the internet that the terrorist in Munich had shouted “scheiß Ausländer” (“f***ing foreigners”). On the basis of this report, rumors spread (and made it to the MSM) that the terror attack may have been the work of some sort of right-wing extremist.
