Jared Bernstein, the man who was formerly responsible for advising Vice President Joe Biden on economic matters (wow . . . that would be a daunting task), has said that if Obama is a socialist, he’s not a particularly good socialist. In fact, he said the President would have to be considered the “worst socialist ever” because the financial markets have been climbing during his Presidency. And to think everyone used to call me names for suggesting socialism is a tool used to prevent mass prosperity. Biden's Former Economic Adviser: 'If Obama's a Socialist, He's the Worst Socialist'Al Sharpton, who...

Fewer than 50,000 people have successfully purchased private healthcare coverage using the struggling ObamaCare enrollment site, according to a report. The figure represents about one-tenth of an initial enrollment target from the Obama administration that has been cited by Republican lawmakers. The report by the Wall Street Journal, citing two people familiar with the matter, comes as federal health officials prepare to release official sign-up figures from healthcare.gov for the first time later this week. The administration has sought to lower expectations about the number, citing problems with HealthCare.gov and consumers' tendency to purchase health coverage close to deadlines. Health...

It’s been one year since the United States government threw some jumper cables onto slumping auto sales with the trade-in program known as Cash for Clunkers. However, as time passed, some car agreements made by consumers under the government incentive program has bred some buyers remorse of late. According to LeaseTrader.com, droves of Cash for Clunkers-inspired vehicle lessees (who is said to account for 1 in 5 total vehicle sales during the incentive’s period) are actively seeking rescue from their contracts. In lease agreements required to be a minimum of five years, a degree of these commitments have fallen under...

I stumbled across an interesting article a few days ago. Written by Kartik Athreya, of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, the article is titled "Economics is Hard. Don't Let Bloggers Tell You Otherwise." The abstract of the paper declares, In this essay, I argue that neither non-economist bloggers, nor economists who portray economics — especially macroeconomic policy — as a simple enterprise with clear conclusions, are likely to contibute [sic] any insight to discussion of economics and, as a result, should be ignored by an open-minded lay public. To start, I might propose that the open-minded public ignore economists...

While I don't agree with the rhetoric used in this video I agree with every argument made. Education should not be run by the gov. via our tax dollars. Private schools do it better and instill Christian and American values in children unlike the liberal left gov. schools. Not sure if I agree w/ getting rid of libraries but my taxes are killing me. Discussion anyone?
