Normally I have little regard for children, because they just steal oxygen from the rain forests and contribute to childhood obesity. A 15-year-old Oceanside boy died Saturday night when he tried to run across the tracks in front of an Amtrak train passing through this North coastal city and was struck, sheriff's officials said. Sheriff's Railroad Enforcement Unit Deputy Gary Wilcoxson said the teenager was among a group of 22 youths playing "chicken" with the train, a dangerous game in which people see how close they can get to a moving train without being struck. SANTA CRUZ — A ‘‘car surfing’’ accident left a 14-year-old Harbor High School freshman dead and the 17-year-old driver of the vehicle arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Avi Vargas died after he fell from his skateboard on Prospect Heights about 3:30 p.m. Monday. Some folks think that because I drive a little 4WD vehicle I do not care about good transportation. That is not exactly true, of course. Within the past couple weeks, I have ridden in two greatly different styled electric vehicles.
