U.S. Rep. Allen West visibly winced when Sid Dinerstein, chairman of the Republican Party of Palm Beach County, introduced him to speak before members of the Republican Executive Committee on Wednesday night. In a dramatic introduction that began, “He may all by himself just have saved Western civilization,” Dinerstein followed with, “The first nationally recognized House figure that publicly said ‘I’m in’ was Congressman Allen West. And that was not just one vote, because Allen is the de facto leader of the freshman Republicans in Washington. " West was addressing the REC to explain his recent vote on the debt...

Attacking everyone within the ten mile radius of a candidate only shows his effectiveness. But more importantly than all that, I simply do not believe that Ms. Fairbanks’ column does justice to Allen West. It seems to have gone to great lengths to portray Allen’s positive qualities as if they were negative ones.
