Concerned that the name "monkeypox" may stigmatize and humiliate its unfortunate victims, the World Health Organization (WHO) is determined to choose a different name for the disease. WHO Director Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus argued that "the current name conveys a demeaning insinuation of improper conduct between man and monkey.
