Iran annually produces 50 ultralight aircraft. Since beginning production, Saba Airline Co. has produced 12 ultralight aircraft, noted an official at the production plant located in Gonabad Airport. The domestically made aircraft have flown about 2,500 kilometers between the northeastern Iranian cities, the official maintained. Each ultralight aircraft built in Gonabad is priced between Rls.400 mln and Rls.1 bln, depending on the specifications and applications. Some obvious applications of ultralight aircraft will be for sport flying, short-haul freight, fire-fighting, crop-dusting, rescue operations, and city taxi/tourist/police flights. They are also used for military purposes particularly, in unmanned surveillance (in drone form)....

Pentagon: 'Sex Bomb' Et Al Mostly Folly Wednesday, February 02, 2005 By Kelley Beaucar Vlahos WASHINGTON — Those who complain the military should make love, not war, may be happy to know that on at least one occasion, military scientists were searching for ways to break down the enemy with aching desire. Now known as the "sex bomb," or in saucier headlines, the "gay bomb," scientists considered developing a chemical weapon with aphrodisiac qualities that would make enemy soldiers hopelessly, physically attractive to one another so as to paralyze their ranks and destroy morale. The plan was unearthed by a...

WASHINGTON — Sometime in the next month, Saddam Hussein and his most loyal lieutenants are likely to hear the first chilling sounds of war: the distinctive clicks and whooshing noises smart bombs make as their steering fins make last-second adjustments to put them on target.

The way Thompson describes it, the "HPM" sound almost too good to be true: They "fry the sophisticated computers and electronic gear necessary to produce, protect store and deliver [chemical and biological] agents. The powerful elctromagnetic pulses can travel into deeply buried bunkers through ventilation shafts, plumbing and antennas. But unlike conventional explosives, they won't spew deadly agents into the air, where they could poison Iraqi civilians or advancing...
