Female long-haul trucker Maybi Izquierdo said she spent her birthday in jail last year after using her gun to defend herself at home against an aggressive male roommate. One year later, her case in California has been dismissed, and she’s reflecting on how the Second Amendment helped protect her from violence and the unexpected. "I think I cried," Izquierdo told Fox News Digital of her Sept. 25, 2022 arrest. "I wanted to talk to my mom. I wanted to talk to my dad … and let them know what happened." [snip] "When I went to close the door of the...

I want to thank the versatile governor of New Mexico, whose name I don’t care about, for being a communist and a fascist all at once. Now that may seem strange, coming from somebody who actually believes in freedom and actually defended it for 27 years, but I want you to hear me out. She may be an aspiring dictator and a mid-wit Karen brimming over with Xanax wishes and Chardonnay dreams, but she’s providing us with a valuable opportunity that we should take full advantage of. She has decreed that the constitutional right to keep and bear arms must...

It’s up to federal judges to choose how and when to proceed on lawsuits filed over the weekend attempting to block a public health order issued last week by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham that, among other things, restricts the possession of guns in public. A hearing is supposed to be scheduled for at least one lawsuit in the future but that date is unknown as of Monday evening. The cases are now in the hands of U.S. District Judge David Urias and U.S. Magistrate Judge Laura Fashing. On Monday, they were assigned to the four lawsuits. Their next step is...

EAST LANSING, Mich. — All firearms have been banned on Michigan State University's campus and buildings, after the Board of Trustees voted Friday morning to close a loophole that allowed visitors to carry concealed firearms in public areas of campus. Currently, a Board of Trustee ordinances bans all student, staff, and faculty from carrying firearms on campus or in university buildings, regardless of whether they have a concealed pistol license, or CPL. An interpretation of the ordinance has allowed visitors to carry concealed firearms in public spaces on campus. Law enforcement and the Michigan State University Department of Police and...

Liberty Safe, which describes itself as “America’s #1 heavy-duty home and gun safe manufacturer,” has come under fire after a report revealed that its parent company has donated almost half a million dollars to pro-gun control Democratic officials. On Wednesday, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk shared FEC filings on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that show Liberty Safe’s parent company, Monomoy Capital Partners, has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democrats. “I pulled the FEC reports on the company and found approximately $400,000 over the last 10 cycles of max donations to Democrats,” Kirk...

Of those, 2,205 (94%) occurred after the 1990 School Zone Safety Act (Amended in 1995). • There are 1,325 total State Gun Laws per this 2022 report. • The Federal government has been enacting Federal Firearm regulations since 1934. • The correlation between population density and school shootings is more profound in population density than in firearm legislation. • There is no standard “School shooting” definition in the U.S. The Secret Service defines targeted attacks, while most data includes incidents when a firearm is brandished, fired, or...

Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman made clear Saturday he will not be enforcing New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s (D) 30-day ban on concealed carry. Breitbart News reported that Grisham issued the ban on Friday and it took effect Saturday, September 8, 2023. The ban bars the carrying of handguns in public and covers both open and concealed carry. It applies to cities like Albuquerque, which is located in Bernalillo County. Grisham’s ban applies to licensed concealed carriers.

In March of 2020 New Mexico Governor Michelle Grisham locked down her state due to the coronavirus threat. New Mexico was ranked 39th out of the 50 states in coronavirus cases at that time. But after Grisham locked down the state she made a private call to her favorite jewelry store to make a purchase. Of course, she was able to do this because she is the Democrat governor. But she got caught and started changing her story. Then in 2021 the far left governor was caught using taxpayer money to pay for groceries, whiskey and tequila. ... FOX News...

The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) and Foster Haines (NAGR member and Albuquerque resident) filed a lawsuit against Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and Secretary of Health Patrick Allen for Executive Order 2023-130 and a subsequent Public Health Emergency Order issued by the Secretary, which bans the public carry of firearms in Albuquerque for 30 days. Plaintiffs are asking for a Temporary Restraining Order and a repeal of the Order. NAGR argues the Order is unconstitutional on the merits of the Supreme Court’s ruling NYSRPA v. Bruen, which held New York’s ban on the public carry of firearms unconstitutional. Bruen...

The Florida Governor isn't missing a chance to make a Second Amendment case. New Mexico is called the Land of Enchantment. Yet Florida’s Governor is notably disenchanted with the Southwestern state after its Democratic Governor took a stand against guns. “Just a few months after ending the COVID ‘public health emergency,’ the Governor of New Mexico has declared a new ‘public health emergency’: Guns. She is now asserting the power to infringe on Second Amendment rights by executive fiat. This assertion is not surprising — since 2020, ‘public health’ has become a pretext for depriving citizens of civil liberties and...

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's emergency order suspending the right to carry firearms in public in and around Albuquerque will spur a legal fight... ... Indeed, the first challenge surfaced Saturday afternoon in a federal lawsuit filed by Albuquerque resident Foster Allen Haines in conjunction with the National Association for Gun Rights, or NAGR, claiming that Lujan Grisham's order is unconstitutional and seeking damages. "Nothing else to say really, just that the NAGR and Mr. Haines represent thousands of New Mexicans that are not going to put up with tyranny," Timothy White, the attorney who filed the case, told the Journal....

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday suspended laws that allow open and concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque for 30 days after declaring a public health emergency. The order, in my view, is flagrantly unconstitutional under existing Second Amendment precedent. It could also be a calculated effort to evade a ruling by making the period of suspension so short that it becomes moot before any final decision is reached by a court. The order cites recent cases of gun-related violence in and around the city, including the killing of an 11-year-old boy dead and the wounding of a...

In a shocking and largely unprecedented move, New Mexico Gov. Michell Lujan Grisham "suspended" gun rights on Friday, citing an emergency declaration for "gun violence" she had signed the day prior. The move immediately overrode duly passed open and concealed carry laws in Albuquerque, the state's largest city. According to Grisham, she will review the order every 30 days and make a decision on extending it. Under the order, other cities within New Mexico could also see their gun rights stripped depending on their levels of violent crime. When pressed on the legality of the situation, Grisham responded by saying...

Late yesterday afternoon, the news broke that Special Counsel David Weiss' office had informed the judge in the Hunter Biden case of its intent to secure a felony indictment against the president's son on firearms-related charges by September 29th at the earliest. The judge had set a Wednesday deadline for prosecutors to declare their intentions moving forward, following the high-profile implosion of a nearly-executed sweetheart plea deal in open court over the summer. That outrageous agreement was reportedly first altered after IRS whistleblowers came forward with their allegations, complicating prosecutors' alleged plan to let Biden off without a single guilty...

Oklahoma state Rep. Justin Humphrey (R-Lane) sent a letter to the Oklahoma Attorney General, the Sheriff of Pushmataha County, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt and “All Oklahoma judicial authorities and other law enforcement entities,” requesting an investigation into ATF’s SWAT team raid at the home of his constituent, Russell Fincher. According to a press release, Humphrey said he was contacted by Fincher after a dozen ATF SWAT team members bearing “automatic weapons” raided Fincher’s home, handcuffed him on his porch in front of his 13-year-old son and coerced him into relinquishing his Federal Firearm License. “If this report is true, and...

One of the false narratives we hear over and over again from gun-control proponents on the left is that good guys with guns do not stop bad guys with guns, and we therefore need to ban “assault weapons.” I put that phrase in quotes because radical progressives don’t have a very specific definition of what constitutes such a class of firearm. That’s because the looser the parameters for what can be considered an assault weapon, the more guns they can fit into the category. Good guys can’t stop bad guys with guns in every situation. This is especially true when...

President Joe Biden’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) announced a proposed rule Thursday requiring universal background checks, which Congress has rejected for more than 20 years. On August 2, 2023, Breitbart News reported Gun Owners of America’s (GOA) warning that Biden was working behind the scenes to use executive action to secure universal background checks. GOA’s warning came the same day Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) urged the Biden Administration to act under the auspices of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to “issue and [make] effective” more regulations on gun sales. On August 5, 2023, Breitbart News noted...

It started as an ordinary day at Woody's Smokehouse in Centreville, Texas. Soon, a violent individual brought chaos into the establishment. Dick’s Sporting Goods reported a profit drop and cut its earnings outlook for the year after seeing an uptick in retail theft and slow sales in its outdoor category. It’s the first reference the athletic goods retailer has made to shrink in a press release in nearly 20 years. In a rare miss, Dick’s also fell short of Wall Street’s estimates on both the top and bottom lines.
