Kremlin-controlled media corrected a mistake that Vladimir Putin made about World War II in his interview with Tucker Carlson. Interjections by the former Fox News anchor during his interview released on Thursday were also cut, it was reported, and a version viewed online omitted a controversial segment in which the Russian president spoke about Adolf Hitler. The fallout from the interview continues as the American anchor faced criticism that he did little to challenge the Russian president, especially during monologues about Russian history that he used to justify his full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In one part of the interview, Putin...

Like a mother with her children, I have a hard time picking favorites when it comes to egg preparation methods. As my esteemed colleague Stephen Johnson has pointed out, cooking eggs can literally teach you how to cook. They truly give us so many gifts. I’ve been on a bit of a scramble kick recently. I enjoy cooking scrambles because they take well to last minute tweaks and additions: You can dash and sprinkle them with a wide variety of sauces and seasonings, impulsively and without much measuring (my favorite style of cooking). As you may know, I am a...

Scrambled eggs are just one of those foods. You know, the type that seem simple enough in theory, and yet have somehow generated many tutorials, hacks, and recipes — each only slightly tweaked from the last but still garnering their own loyal following. Perhaps Chrissy Teigen’s recipe is your holy grail, or you swear by Anthony Bourdain’s. Well, I’m sorry to tell you that there’s a new contender in town: J. Kenji López-Alt’s viral recipe that promises the fluffiest, creamiest scrambled eggs with the help of one unexpected ingredient. Maybe it’s time to reconsider your favourite? The American chef’s secret...

Scrambled eggs might be a simple dish but it can be surprisingly hard to get right. Everyone wants a fluffy texture and to avoid the eggs going too rubbery. And one chef says the key is his secret ingredient – mayonnaise. Food scientist Alton Brown says the condiment gives the dish a creamier and more delicious texture.

I'm really not much of a cook at all. I don't have the patience or the concentration. It's therefore no surprise that I would fall back on cooking eggs - fried, boiled, or poached. When I fry the eggs, I prefer to use bacon grease, but butter works just fine. So does olive oil if I'm in a healthy mood. I recently ran across a scrambled eggs recipe that used Worcestershire sauce: You Never Knew You Needed Scrambled Eggs With Worcestershire Sauce I tried it and I liked it. The link led me to a couple other links: This Is...

VIDEO AT LINK Hard-boiled eggs are great and all, but some among us long for a snack with a little more razzmatazz. For example, say, an egg scrambled inside its own shell.

Eggs and butter. That’s all you need for truly amazing scrambled eggs. Unfortunately, eggs and butter are also the key ingredients in really bad scrambled eggs, the rubbery, flavorless kind you find too often in diners and restaurants. The fact is, your eggs will always live and die by how they’re handled on the stovetop. Cook them too long and you extract the moisture and, with it, the flavor. But if you cook them gently and slowly, over low heat, you’ll have the best eggs you’ve ever tasted. Crack them directly into the pan and, instead of scrambling them, slowly...

Whatever your opinion of President Obama, there's no question he has spectacularly revived the number and quality of musical performances in the White House. Look no further than "Paul McCartney: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song in Performance at the White House," taped early last month and screening on PBS on Wednesday, the fourth "In Performance" show thus far during his young administration. Yes, Sir Paul is English. But the award is not restricted to U.S. citizens. Named in honor of brothers Ira and George Gershwin, the award is given to a composer or performer whose lifetime...

A "gay rights for LBGT families" group plans on creating a public relations firestorm by crashing the annual White House Easter Egg hunt. A group calling itself Soulforce is arranging the event, hoping to steal the spotlight for their groups agenda. "The media will be there (they are always there for the egg roll) and millions of Americans--many for the first time--will meet our families," the Soulforce email explained. "This is an amazing opportunity to reach homes in blue states and red states with positive images of our families participating in this great American family tradition."

A 65 million year old tsunami is still wreaking havoc in the scientific community, a New Mexico State University professor says. The 300-foot-tall tsunami - an aftereffect of the giant meteor impact that some scientists think killed off the dinosaurs - scrambled fossils and rock and has made the event very hard to date, said Timothy Lawton, head of NMSU's geology department.

Well, readers of this blog certainly know that in Venezuela we are closer to a military regime than to anything else. The logic of the system has pushed Chavez to associate the army to his power as the only way to get some "safety" in his hold to power. I have been sent this article from Notitarde and I decided to make it my first translation of the year. You can actually go and open the link to see the picture of the writer, a feature of Notitarde, the Valencia newspaper. The provincial commentators sometimes are ahead of Caracas. Indeed,...
