Barbecue sauces have a uniquely Southern and Western U.S. history. Most experts agree that the practice of adding sauce and spices to meat and fish began early in our history, with Native Americans teaching the art to early European settlers. The natives probably developed the process as part of an attempt to keep meats and fish from spoiling quickly. Salt played a major role in those early barbecue sauces, and salt is a well-known preservative in the meat curing process. Because the nations first European arrivals lived on the East Coast of America, that part of the country is credited...

In the face of rising gas prices, partisan sniping over Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, and a resumption of insurgent violence in Iraq, President Bush's job approval rating has slipped into a post-holiday funk, again dipping below 40%, a new telephone poll by Zogby International shows. His approval rating almost mirrors the percentage of respondents (40%) who said the nation overall is headed in the right direction. The deterioration in the President's numbers appears to be the result of eroding support among the investor class and others who supported him in his 2004 re-election bid, said Pollster John Zogby, President...

The Democrats The Democrats do have an excellent opportunity to pick up seats, but winning back the Senate will be the political equivalent of pitching a perfect game. The Democrats need to pick up six seats, defend three open seats, protect four vulnerable incumbents, and at least two more seats that could become competitive. All in all, it makes it a long shot for the Democrats. The Democrats start out having to defend open seats in Minnesota, Maryland and Vermont (while Jeffords is an Independent he caucuses with the Democrats making the seat Democratic for purpose of controlling the Senate)....

Sadly, this is the poll I trust the least. Since 9/11, he's ignored the increase in Republicans, and it showed in 2002, and continues to show in his polls. Also, both his at Rasmussen's poll show a 3-point change in their tracking polls from the previous day's poll, but both in opposite directions.

If this is not an example of the bias in polling, I don't know what is. I received from Zogby the hyperlinks to polling for Presidential elections. There were very suggestive and manipulative and downright propaganda questioning such as listed below. Tin Man or Scarecrow, brains or lack of???? Of course there is a question in regard to stem cell research too...You think Zogby is trying to help Kerry??? Come on! I think we all need to share this information when the polling is so blatantly bias...can now understand WHY Zogby's polling is Kerry leaning.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who would you more...

Zogby has been doing a fair amount of polling over the Internet. This mornings poll asks the usual questions for presidential polling and then throws in this gem: "Who would you more likely vote for president - the Tin Man who is all brains and no heart or the Scarecrow who is heart and no brain?" Which candidate is which.

The Zogby poll released on l0-7, gave Bush a 2% lead. The demographics stated that Kerry led among 18-29 years olds 56%-31%. Todays poll gives Kerry a 3% lead, while stating that Bush NOW leads among 18-29 year olds by 47%-38%. Todays poll demographics also state that Bush leads by 11% among married couples, but that it is not enough to offset Kerrys lead among singles.
