Pollster John Zogby: “The race is enjoined fully. Each man has consolidated his own base. Bush has good leads in the Red States, among investors, and among Republicans, Born Again Christians, Men, and married voters. He is right where he needs to be.

Zogby International conducted interviews of 1207 likely voters chosen at random nationwide. All calls were made from Zogby International headquarters in Utica, N.Y., from October 28 through October 30, 2004. The margin of error is +/- 2.9 percentage points. Slight weights were added to region, party, age, race, religion, gender, to more accurately reflect the voting population. Margins of error are higher in sub-groups.

Zogby's commentary accompanying his poll release for today is indicating that he believes Bush is exactly where he needs to be to win this election. Note that Zogby mentions Bush's solid position among men. Fox's poll release today showed Kerry +2 among men, indicating that the Fox poll had two days of very bad sampling.

How does this square with Zogby's latest poll showing Kerry ahead?

I am really confused. I think Bush is going to win 306-232.

But how can Bush be doing better with women, men, minorities, etc, and be tied??

Please help!

Zogby's latest poll shows a 48-48 tie, a 2 point bump for Bush in his support from the 46 he reported yesterday. Keep in mind that Zogby understated Bush's support by 2% in 2000.

Zogby must be playing to his paycheck. Everything changes hour to hour form source to source to influence somebody's ratings. Zogby is crap

huh? Right where he needs to be for what? Sometimes I wonder if Zogby approves his own poll release blog. He told the Daily Snooze that Kerry was going to win. If that's the case, how can Bush be right where he needs to be? Unless he thinks Bush "needs to be" losing.

Zogby might be the only person on the planet who flip-flops as much as John Kerry.

PEOPLE,

Polls are score keeping, not score deciding.

I am working phone banks in Reno this weekend. I am a Utah resident and flew here. This is not intended to be admirable because There Are People Here From Texas who did the same thing. The Texas Strike Force has 1500 willing to volunteer. They divided themselves among the ten battlegrounds.

Phone banks are VERY HARD WORK, and maybe too much to ask of Freepers, who prefer to celebrate our progress online. But if you think you are tough enough to endure some hangups and even some "Yeah, we already voted Bush and I'm really glad you're working hard for him, where are you from and why are you supporting him?"

That's the hard part. Forcing yourself not to celebrate with the early voter supporters. They Eat Time. You have to keep calling. It's about numbers.

Anyway, if you think you're tough enough, get into a battlegound phone banks today and tomorrow. Have to drive 100 miles? Oh, okay, I guess that's too difficult. All you have to do is look online for a county campaign headquarters, call them and ask to volunteer. They will say yes. Get in your car and drive there, sit down, pick up a cellphone sitting there and start calling from the list.

Zogby is all over the place saw him on the DAILY SHOW saying KERRY will win these polls mean sheet to me there are to many factors left out of their polling. Besides the double black voters now going for BUSH the woman voters, the jewish voters.

Anyone notice how sneaky and nasty this "information" is? How angry a caricature this tries to paint?

Republican dads are at family functions etc. not at home answering questions from a pollster.....Fox poll when looked at in that way shows Bush way ahead if you bring in the missing men %. The explosives didn't really make it to the weekend news cycle and it is Osama that is getting the play and it will play out tomorrow and Tuesday. Thats the way news cycles work...Gallop tonight might show a little drop for Bush as it was taken at the height of the explosives news cycle...BUT FEAR NOT THE OSAMA TAPE IS PLAYING WELL FOR BUSH AS THE DEMOCRATS HAVE PICKED THE MOVE TO WARDS BUSH BEGINNING YESTERDAY IN THEIR OWN TRACKING POLLS...

So if Bush is right where he needs to be then why is Zogby picking Kerry to win. I bet he gets the polls close at the end to regain credibility. Then in 4 years he can have Hillary out in front by 10 early and go back to his usual sillyness.

Zogby's latest poll shows the race TIED [NOTE: Even though Zogby keeps his 'special sauce' secret, it is widely believes that he overpolls Democrats by at least 4%.]

FYI: At this point, national polls mean NOTHING. If you want an update on the meaningful polls, review the recent (battleground) STATE polls released by Mason-Dixon:
