He was the last surviving founding member of the SAS and the last survivor of the Long Range Desert Group (LDRG), a reconnaissance unit based in the North African desert. Major Sadler joined the SAS in 1941 and became a navigator who used the skies to find his way across the Libyan desert. In December of that year, he was part of the first successful SAS raid on Wadi Tamet where his team destroyed 24 aircraft and a fuel dump. He fought with the SAS in Italy and France after his time in the desert. He was later parachuted into...

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Friday confirmed that Kelly Sadler, the top White House aide accused of joking about Sen. John McCain's death in a staff meeting Thursday, is still employed by the administration. But Sanders otherwise repeatedly declined to comment on the reported remark, or how President Trump views McCain, who is being treated for brain cancer. As The Hill first reported and other publications later confirmed, Sadler, in a conversation about McCain's disapproval of Mr. Trump's pick to run the CIA, said, "It doesn't matter, he's dying anyway." But Sanders declined to comment further, and only...

With the brilliants floating around FR I know some freeper out there will be able help me on a piece of antique art I was given. It's called, "The Punch Bowl (A Mystery) Painted by Dendy Sadler." That's all the information I have other than this photo (below) from a website.   My framed print looks really old. The colors aren't that bright. And I don't know much about the Artist or these prints. I was hoping some freeper might have more information this. I couldn't find much on the web. Thanks for your help.

Just to let everyone know the 26th book in the long running popular military/history/fiction series "Casca" had just been released. This is the series begun by Vietnam Green Beret legend Barry Sadler back in '79. The publisher in Tennessee released this latest book - about the American Civil War - in late October this year.

There's a new Casca novel out for all those of you interested in the long running series began way back in 1979 by US Military hero Barry Sadler. Although Sadler passed away in '89, the series continues and now numbers 25 books. This one's about the US-Mexican war of 1846-7 called Casca 25: Halls of Montezuma. Take a look, the reviews are great!
  • William and Mary Finally Allows Second Bake Sale, but still Distorts and Disregards Truth

Victory for Free Speech at William & Mary WILLIAMSBURG, VA— After pressure from and public exposure by the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), the College of William & Mary (W&M) has reversed course and allowed an "affirmative action bake sale" to proceed without interference. A student group, the Sons of Liberty, saw its satirical protest unlawfully halted by W&M in November; it was one of many such protests nationwide that were shut down on campuses this past fall. While W&M allowed the group's bake sale to proceed without incident this time, W&M President Timothy J. Sullivan issued a...

CNN reporter Brent Sadler traveling on a road very near Tikrit. The retired military officer in the studio keeps telling him to be careful. I find these live shots very nerve-wracking. It seems rather foolish for a reporter to be doing this, considering that Tikrit is a Saddam stronghold. Just a heads-up in case anyone is interested.

DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) -- Elliott Sadler put up a fast lap early, then waited nervously as driver after driver came up short in qualifying for the Carolina Dodge Dealers 400. The result Friday was Sadler's first pole in 146 Winston Cup races. ``It was pretty exciting to wait through all those cars,'' said Sadler, the 16th of 43 drivers qualifying at Darlington Raceway's demanding 1.366-mile oval. Sadler, in only his fifth race with Robert Yates Racing, was the man to beat all day, leading practice in his No. 38 Ford despite running only five laps. He then backed it up...
