There's a new Casca novel out for all those of you interested in the long running series began way back in 1979 by US Military hero Barry Sadler. Although Sadler passed away in '89, the series continues and now numbers 25 books. This one's about the US-Mexican war of 1846-7 called Casca 25: Halls of Montezuma. Take a look, the reviews are great!
And yes..I know he has died.
The series is under the overall control of one of the people who worked with Barry’s agent in Tennessee. He contracted a new writer in 2005 to do 3 stories based around the US Civil War. Barry sadly died back in 1989 and the only story they got out of him posthumously was #22: The mongol which they found on Barry’s computer.
Thanks for the update. I wish well for the continuing effort.
The next one is due out in the next couple of months called Casca 26: Johnny Reb with Casca fighting for the Confederacy. Casca’s participation in the US Civil War has long been debated amongst fans of Casca and finally its coming out in print. Should be interesting to see the reviews once the fans read it. It’ll be announced on www.casca.net so watch out for it.
