Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said former President Trump’s political power is “diminished” following his endorsed candidates’ lackluster performance in the midterm elections and vowed to find “quality” candidates for Senate races in 2024. “Here’s what I think has changed: I think the former president’s political clout has diminished,” McConnell said in a interview with NBC News released on Friday. Despite predictions of a “red wave” in this November’s midterm elections, Republicans lost ground in the Senate and only managed to secure a slim majority in the House. Many in the GOP have since placed the blame on Trump...

Last week, we looked at the story of an actual domestic terror attack on a pair of electric substations in North Carolina. We still have no idea who the person (or people) who carried out that attack were, but law enforcement is continuing to investigate. As it turns out, however, North Carolina was far from the only state to witness attacks in this fashion. Between January and August of this year, there were 106 reported attacks on power stations, substations, and other elements of the power grid. And they’re happening all over the country. Fortunately, few have been as effective...

The two attacks on Portland's electrical substations were pre-meditated, officials said, as other states are on 'high alert' after Washington and North Carolina were also targeted. Officials in Oregon are still probing the Thanksgiving electrical attacks at Portland General Electric and Bonneville Power Administration in Clackamas County. In total, at least seven attacks have been recorded in the US in recent weeks. In North Carolina, the FBI is currently investigating if their grid attacks were triggered by opponents of a drag show. 'We have confirmed that this was malicious intent, it was no accident,' Doug Johnson, a BPA spokesperson told...

The incidents come to light via a federal memo following a deliberate attack last week in Moore County, North Carolina, that left tens of thousands of people without power for days as seasonal temperatures fall. In Washington state and Oregon, spokespeople for several energy companies - Puget Sound Energy, the Cowlitz County Public Utilities District and Bonneville Power Administration - confirmed the attacks occurred in November. A federal law enforcement memo revealed that the Pacific Northwest substations have described attacks using 'handtools, arson, firearms, and metal chains possibly in response to an online call for attacks on critical infrastructure.'

A state of emergency has been declared after the electrical power grid was “intentionally attacked” causing a major power outage in Moore County. The Moore County Sheriff’s Office confirmed those details in a news conference Sunday evening. More than 34,000 people in Moore County are still without power. The outages began just after 8 p.m. Saturday night across communities in the area, according to Sheriff Ronnie Fields. Sheriff Fields said firearms were used to shoot and disable equipment at two substations in Moore County. Power could be out until Thursday, according to the sheriff’s office and Duke Energy officials. Duke...

Two power substations in a North Carolina county were struck by gunfire in what police say is being investigated as a criminal act, causing damage that could take days to repair leaving tens of thousands of people in the dark without electricity. In response to ongoing outages, which began just after 7pm on Saturday night across Moore County, officials announced a state of emergency that included a curfew from 9pm on Sunday until 5am on Monday. Also, county schools will be closed Monday. 'An attack like this on critical infrastructure is a serious, intentional crime and I expect state and...

Moore County, in the Sandhills region of central North Carolina, is mainly known for its golf courses, especially Pinehurst No. 2. The county is also home to thousands of active-duty soldiers (many of whom are Special Forces) stationed nearby at Fort Bragg, the home of the US Army Special Operations Command and the 82nd Airborne, making the rural county’s infrastructure an attractive target.Saturday night that infrastructure was attacked when numerous power substations throughout the county were targets of what the Moore County Sheriff labeled “intentional vandalism,” leaving more than 40,000 people without power.Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields reported on Facebook...

The night of the midterm election, another oil refinery, this one owned by Chevron and located in El Segundo, Calif., caught fire under mysterious circumstances. Firefighters were called to the scene, which was described as a “massive fire” – see the video below. Officials say they have no idea how the fire started. The next day, Reuters reported that the “isolated fire” occurred inside Chevron’s 269,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery and is now extinguished. None of the facility’s “major processes units” were affected, the same report claimed. (Related: In September, numerous oil refineries in Ohio mysteriously caught fire and had to be...

A major fibre optic cable has been cut near Aix-en-Provence, France, causing a global internet connectivity slowdown, reports cybersecurity company Zscaler. Experts believe that the cable was severed in a deliberate “act of vandalism"; others have described it as “sabotage.” In the early hours of 18 October, a cable was cut at a major landing point for several undersea internet cables, causing a chain reaction of connectivity problems across Europe and further afield. Connectivity was especially disrupted on internet cable between Marseille-Lyon, Marseille-Milan, and Marseille-Barcelona. According to Zscaler CEO Jay Chaudhry, the vandalism caused connectivity problems across the world. “We...

In January of 2021, The New York Times promoted a book titled How To Blow Up a Pipeline by transparently radical author Andreas Malm. On Thursday, the Times directly promoted Malm by publishing his guest essay under the headline "History May Absolve the Soup Throwers." That's too tender a headline, for Malm thinks soup throwing at a Van Gogh painting isn't optimal: I tend to think sabotage is most effective when it is precise and gritty. When activists from the same group smashed gas stations in April this year, they hit the nail on the head. Gasoline, unlike a van...

According to the German security services, last weekend's sabotage of train cables in northern Germany was a "politically motivated act". This is reported by German media. They did not disclose why the security services think this. On Saturday morning, rail traffic in northern Germany was halted for hours after the railway's essential radio communications cables were cut. The fiber optic cables were also damaged, causing the backup system to fail. Offenders with inside knowledge The security services assume perpetrators with insider knowledge. Germany has in the past experienced politically motivated acts of sabotage, recalls Der Spiegel...

BERLIN (Reuters) -Attackers cut cables vital for the rail network in two places causing a near three-hour halt to all rail traffic in northern Germany on Saturday morning, in what authorities called an act of sabotage without identifying who might be responsible. The federal police has launched an investigation into the incident, Transport Minister Volker Wissing told a news conference. "It is clear that this was a targeted and malicious action," he said. The disruption immediately raised alarm bells after NATO and the European Union last month stressed the need to protect critical infrastructure after what they called acts of...

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the West was purposefully creating obstacles to the investigation and said the exclusion of Russia and Gazprom from the probe showed it had something to hide.

I read Jazz Shaw’s story this morning about Jeffrey Sachs saying it’s likely the US blew up the Nord Stream pipeline. That’s the line being taken by Tucker Carlson as well. And while I agree there’s no definitive proof either way, at least not anything that has been declassified yet, I think it’s still probable that Russia is responsible.Russia had already cut off the supply of gas through Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 was never operational. So there was no real change in the amount of gas going through the pipeline (or the revenue it produced) before or...

LONDON, Oct 3 (Reuters) - Russia's Gazprom (GAZP.MM) said on Monday that gas had stopped leaking from three ruptured Nord Stream gas lines under the Baltic, and that it might be possible to resume pumping through the remaining single line.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Friday that the sabotage of the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines could be advantageous for Europe because the continent may no longer be able to rely on Russian energy. Blinken told reporters that Europe now has a “tremendous opportunity” to achieve energy independence since it can no longer rely on Russian gas deliveries through Nord Stream 1 and 2 during a press conference. After European nations discovered gas leaks in the Baltic Sea on Sept. 27, President Joe Biden and the European Union (EU) both said that the leaks were caused by a...

Secret talks between Russia and Germany to resolve their Nord Stream 1 and 2 issues had to be averted at any cost. The War of Economic Corridors has entered incandescent, uncharted territory: Pipeline Terror. A sophisticated military operation – that required exhaustive planning, possibly involving several actors – blew up four separate sections of the Nord Stream (NS) and Nord Stream 2 (NS2) gas pipelines this week in the shallow waters of the Danish straits, in the Baltic Sea, near the island of Bornholm. Swedish seismologists estimated that the power of the explosions may have reached the equivalent of up...

The Swedish Coast Guard (SCG) said they found a fourth leak in Nord Stream pipelines on September 29, 2022, just 3 days after underwater explosions severely damaged two Nord Stream 1 pipes and one Nord Stream 2.1 NS 1 and 2 are key underwater pipelines built to deliver Russian natural gas to Germany. Nord Stream AG – a Switzerland-based consortium for the construction and operation of the Nord Stream (Nord Stream 1) said earlier this week the damage is unprecedented. Due to the severity of the damage, the repairs would take several months or more. The fourth leak was detected...

“..Let me answer his question. Let me be clear: The United States categorically denies any involvement in this incident, and we reject any assertions saying the contrary…” - U.S. deputy ambassador Richard Mills (9/30/2022).Well, that took long enough and the finger pointing continues. Soon as word got out that high explosives were used to destroy Nordstream 1 & 2, NATO nations were quick to point the finger eastward towards global enemy #1 – Vladimir Putin; citing less evidence than there was for proving election fraud in the 2020 election. In fact, all the allegations from the west so far are...
