UPDATE: In typical fashion, Hamas is operating in bad faith and manipulating the terms of the agreement.
BREAKING: Israeli official says Hamas approved a "softened" ceasefire proposal that is "not acceptable" to Israel - SKY— Breaking911 (@Breaking911) May 6, 2024
BREAKING: Senior Israeli official to Ynet: This Hamas agreement to the deal is a deception. It is a one-sided deal without any Israeli involvement or agreement. This was meant to make Israel look bad when they refuse.— Raylan Givens (@JewishWarrior13) May 6, 2024
BREAKING: Two Israeli officials confirm to me that Hamas has NOT accepted the deal that was on the table.— Nick Schifrin (@nickschifrin) May 6, 2024
This reported Hamas approval looks like textbook deception: approving a deal that isn’t on the table in order to apply pressure on Israel to accept Hamas terms.— Jonathan Conricus (@jconricus) May 6, 2024
***Original story***
Iranian backed terrorist organization Hamas is claiming they've agreed to a ceasefire proposal delivered by Egypt and Qatar as the Israeli Defense Forces prepare to invade Rafah, a city in southern Gaza City where 8000 terrorists are stationed and holding hostages. The proposal reportedly includes a six week ceasefire in exchange for hostages -- the number is not known. The details of what Hamas actually agreed to are also unknown.
HAMAS ACCEPTS CEASEFIRE DEAL: Ismail Haniyeh, chairman of the political bureau of the Hamas terror group, "called the Prime Minister of Qatar and the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence and informed them that Hamas accepts their proposal for a ceasefire.”— Breaking911 (@Breaking911) May 6, 2024
The news comes after Hamas rejected dozens of offers over the past six months for a ceasefire, which included the release of thousands of terrorists from Israeli prisons in exchange for hostages.
The Egyptian proposal originally called for Hamas to be allowed freedom of movement throughout Gaza and removal of IDF forces. There was no way Israel could allow for that. The American-backed counterproposal that Blinken called generous is what Hamas needs to accept.— Richard Goldberg (@rich_goldberg) May 6, 2024
Earlier in the day the IDF dropped leaflets warning non-combatants in Rafah to evacuate.

This morning the @IDF called on Palestinians in eastern #Rafah to temporarily evacuate from the area.
The evacuation efforts included dropping leaflets, text messages, phone calls and media announcements in Arabic.

Israel has not responded about whether the latest deal from Qatar and Egypt is acceptable.
Over the weekend Hamas bombed a humanitarian aid crossing into Gaza, which was recently reopened.

This is a breaking story, stay tuned for updates.
Kill all of Hamas. Try in good faith to avoid killing civilians and hostages. When all of Hamas is dead, cease firing.
They’re stalling for time. Never trust a viper.
OK
Er ist Kein Kindergarten Krieg...
Er ist Vernichtungskrieg!!!
> Hamas is operating in bad faith...
At least they are being consistent.
“ They’re stalling for time. Never trust a viper.”

Yep, Israel has them “cornered”… they have no place left to retreat to. Israel should just say well give you a 24 hour ceasefire that will then end if you don’t give up all the hostages.
Since Hamas will force everyone to stay in the hostile zone, and fly themselves to the safe zone, just kill everyone in the safe zone.
Israel should just say that "Hamas has refused our ceasefire offer" and kill them all. Their ceasefire offer: Surrender or Death.
I’m good with that also.
Immediate unconditional surrender, laying down of arms and open all of Rafah to IDF control and military government.
Then you will have your cease fire…organically, so to speak.
Well of course... fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
Exactly. Why no demands of unconditional surrender?
IMHO, the bare minimum for Israel to accept surrender is the Gazans give up the northern half or 2/3rds of Gaza. Then Israel should tell every Mussleman that future attacks will result in Muslims losing even more land. Just like in 1967.
This “Deal” includes NO hostage release..Israel was NEVER going to agree to this, this was all being done to buy time in order to help Hamas escape Rafah..NO DEAL, go into Rafah and FINISH THEM OFF ALREADY
You’re too generous.
Give them 6 hours to publicly release all hostages. When the 6 hours is up, commence bombing.
“Defeat”?
Yeah, not even close.
At best, all Israel can do is wipe out the lower level thugs and peons that are stuck in Gaza. All the high value targets are currently sitting pretty and fat in places like Doha and Dubai, and lighting cigarettes with hundred dinar notes.
Other than the poor shmucks on the ground, Hamas/Hezbollah have, thus far, won every OTHER victory that matters in this whole thing, and won those victories quite handily.
The fact that both mainstream and online media accepts and parrots Hamas/Hezbollah’s talking points without questioning or critical analysis, and doesn’t even bother correcting them when they’re proven false...
The fact that the entirety of the Western World of Generation Y or younger (and a fairly significant portion of the older generations as well)... The fact that the open anti-semites right here on this very board are starting to dominate the discussion...
Yeah, so far the only victories Israel has won have been bitterly pyrrhic ones... And this is coming from someone, who has been (and continues to be) a staunch supporter of Israel for most of my adult life.
The REAL war for Israel’s long-term survival is the one that is being fought, right here in North America, with every university campus that Hamas/Hezbollah takes over, every bit of critical infrastructure they manage to slow down and/or shut down, and with every media talking head that is afraid to question the talking points that are spoon-fed to them.
Israel will continue to lose in all of this just so long as most people in the western world cannot be cured of their terminal case of rectal-cranial inversion.
