The billionaire Microsoft founder made his sobering warning during an interview with CNN over the weekend. “Well, sadly, the next four to six months could be the worst of the epidemic,” he told anchor Jake Tapper in discussing lockdowns and his support for extreme restrictions such as stay-at-home orders issued by California Governor Gavin Newsom.

A report from July of 2019 indicates Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell received thousands of dollars in donations from lobbyists for two of the largest electronic voting machine vendors in the United States – Election Systems & Software and Dominion Voting Systems. Newsweek reported on the donations in noting that McConnell (R-KY) had squashed two separate bills in the Senate addressing election security. The reports were based on an investigation by an outlet called ‘Sludge.’ “Several of the lobbyists working for ES&S and Dominion Voting Systems have recently made contributions to McConnell’s campaign and joint fundraising committee,” Sludge wrote.

President Trump called out Mitch McConnell after the Republican Senate Majority Leader congratulated Joe Biden for winning the presidential election. McConnell on Tuesday acknowledged Biden as the winner of the 2020 election for the first time, declaring that “the Electoral College has spoken.” “Yesterday, electors met in all 50 states, so, as of this morning, our country has officially a president-elect and a vice president-elect,” McConnell said.

The wild scene took place as lawmakers debated certifying the Electoral votes from Pennsylvania. An altercation reportedly took place between Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) and Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX), though what prompted it remains unclear.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene fired back at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell after he stated her embrace of “loony lies and conspiracy theories” is a “cancer for the Republican Party.” Greene (R-GA) has faced a growing number of critics from within the Republican Party over controversial words and actions she engaged in prior to becoming a congresswoman. CNN reported that in 2019 Greene “liked” controversial comments on social media, including one that said “a bullet to the head would be quicker” in a discussion to remove House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released a list of 47 “vulnerable Democrats” they plan to target in 2022 in an effort to take back the House. The memo reminds voters that Republicans are “just five seats short of a majority” following some unexpected successes in the 2020 election. NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer says that in the first few weeks of the Biden administration, Americans are already “seeing the job-killing initiatives House Democrats support.”
