RUSH: What are we going to do about Mississippi Senator Trent Lott? What are we going to do about Senator Lott? You remember when he got into trouble with the Strom Thurmond comment? We're out there defending the guy. The White House threw him overboard. All kinds of Republicans were throwing him overboard. Talk radio came to his defense. Trent Lott is now one of the engineers of the Senate immigration bill, the amnesty bill, and they're trying to bring this thing back. The amendments are being kept under wraps. By the way, I understand Lindsey Grahamnesty, senator from South...

Everyone remembers Louie DePalma from the TV series Taxi. Although no fool, Louie is the mean, lecherous, sexist, selfish, and crude little man who uses his position in the Sunshine Cab Company to intimidate, badger, and punish the smarter and better looking in the cast. One cannot but marvel at how this character parallels the radio character Michael Savage played by Michael Weiner. The only discernable difference is that Danny Devito was better looking and wasn’t serious.

John Conyers started making noises on how they can further undermine efforts to protect Americans from terrorist attacks. Speaker-elect Pelosi (D-CA) is co-sponsoring the “End Racial Profiling Act”, according to syndicated columnist Sher Zieve. The proposed bill is said to have been prompted by the recent removal of six Muslim imams, who are reported to have...

RUSH: Remember a couple weeks ago, I had this most unbelievable press release from Russell Simmons. Russell Simmons had arrived in Africa, nobody cared, but he put the press release out, "I have arrived in Africa," on my charter jet or what have you, and, "I'm here to promote jewelry, the right kind of jewelry." He's promoting his own. He's got a jewelry line now. I thought this was the most self indulgent press release I've ever read. I wish I could remember the thing because it really needs to be read. I don't have it here at my fingertips....

RUSH: The Feds have arrested a would-be terrorist allegedly planning to attack a Chicago area mall during the Christmas rush. It will be interesting to see how they got this guy. Wonder if they used wiretaps to get this guy. He had planned some kind of attack in Rockford, Illinois. He was acting on his own. He had no connection to any cell. He planned to set explosive devices off in garbage cans in a shopping center during the busy holiday shopping season. He's 22 years old, he lives in Chicago. Well, obviously, folks, this is happening because of our...

Kuypers, assistant professor of communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech, reveals a disturbing world of media bias in his new book Bush's War: Media Bias and Justifications for War in a Terrorist Age (Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, Inc. 2006). Convincingly and without resorting to partisan politics, Kuypers strongly illustrates in eight chapters “how the press failed America in its...

Palm Beach prosecutors investigating Rush Limbaugh all but admitted this week that they currently have no real evidence that the number one radio host violated Florida's drug laws - and won't be able to prosecute the top talker for "doctor shopping" unless a judge lets them look for evidence in Limbaugh's confidential medical files. State Attorney Barry Krischer made the startling admission in a brief filed with Florida's 4th District Court of Appeals, which is currently weighing whether Limbaugh's medical records are fair game. In the filing Krischer confessed, "The State will not be in a position to know what...

Limbaugh's pill use not extraordinary, lawyer says BY DANIEL de VISE ddevise@herald.com Rush Limbaugh's attorney mounted an offensive Monday, accusing Palm Beach County prosecutors of smear tactics and likening his client to any ordinary American with chronic pain. ''This nation is full of people who take medication every day and will do so for the rest of their lives,'' said Roy Black, speaking in a news conference in Miami. Discussing the prescription-drug abuse allegations in unprecedented detail, Black reasoned that the quantity of medicine Limbaugh is accused of ingesting -- 1,800 pills in 210 days -- works out to roughly...

PUNK'D: Ashton Kutcher victim suit headed to trial JANUARY 23--Plea negotiations between Rush Limbaugh and Florida prosecutors stalled last month when government officials insisted that the radio host cop to a felony, rejecting a defense suggestion that Limbaugh simply enter a pretrial diversion program and "continue to receive treatment for his addiction." In an exchange of letters (copies of which you'll find below), Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, and prosecutor James Martz offered starkly different versions of the punishment Limbaugh, 53, should receive were he to admit that he engaged in "doctor shopping" to score prescription painkillers and other drugs. In...

We began arriving around 2:15 p.m. to set up and get ready for Al and Tipper Gore's booksigning at Olsson's Book Store near the Courthouse Metro Station. People were already inside the store and lining up outside with more people coming every few minutes. The Arlington County Police sent three officers (in three cars) to meet the FReepers. They had already prepared a demonstration area on the sidewalk in front of Olsson's and marked the boundaries with orange traffic cones. We were positioned on the sidewalk, separated by a row of small bushes (which we were told to stay out...
