Rolling Thunder is a 1977 drama starring William Devane and Tommy Lee Jones who return home after being held captive as POWs in Vietnam. Unfortunately, their troubles are not over. Upon release, Rolling Thunder received praise for its action sequences, atmosphere, direction, music and cast performances, but was criticized for its pace and violent climax. This is a review of the new 4K Blu Ray version of the film.

A convoy of motorcycle riders is set to arrive in Ottawa this weekend for a rally on Parliament Hill. Dubbed "Rolling Thunder Ottawa" the convoy plans to loop through downtown Friday and Saturday, though their reasons for the rally are unclear. The event is bound to be a reminder of the downtown protests that paralyzed Ottawa for weeks and inspired similar demonstrations across Canada and around the world over COVID-19 mandates. Police already plan to send in officers to enforce the rally and will prevent vehicles from entering the area surrounding Parliament Hill...

Under President Biden’s leadership, the Pentagon rejected a permit for the annual Rolling to Remember motorcycle ride held in Washington, DC, each Memorial Day to honor POW/MIA veterans. The event is organized by AMVETS, a veterans group, which submitted permit requests and petitions for the event to multiple federal agencies. According to Rep. Darrell Issa, “AMVETS received approval from the Department of Transportation, the Department of Interior, and multiple other state and local authorities.” Originally, the Pentagon granted a permit to AMVETS for the event in March, however it was later rescinded without explanation. “There are no options with as...

Groups of hundreds of motorcyclists in Chicago are putting themselves and others at risk as they blow red lights, stop signs and ride on sidewalks. “Two hundred, 300 motorcyclists barreling down the road,” she said, “disregarding all traffic lights, stop signs, speed limits, pedestrians on sidewalks.”

Leaders of the veterans group Rolling Thunder are poised to roar back to Washington to defend President Trump if Democrats move to impeach him. They say Trump hasn't changed their mind about ending their annual massive Memorial Day biker gathering. But some bikers will be back to demand House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., halt impeaching proceedings if she cranks them up. “I think he's doing a great job, and I wish Nancy Pelosi and her cronies would get off his back,” executive director Artie Muller said Thursday after returning to New Jersey from the group’s final planned national gathering in...

The Rolling Thunder motorcycle ride may not be coming to an end after all, following a generous gift to the veterans advocacy organization and emphatic support from President Trump. The president, while traveling in Japan, vowed Sunday that the 30-year tradition would continue in Washington, D.C., after the group said rising costs for permits would force them to move the motorcycle ride elsewhere next year. "The Great Patriots of Rolling Thunder WILL be coming back to Washington, D.C. next year, & hopefully for many years to come. It is where they want to be, & where they should be. Have...

President Trump announced Sunday the annual Rolling Thunder veterans gathering would go on past this year, which was expected to be its last ride. Since 1988, veterans and supporters have ridden motorcycles through Washington to show support and solidarity for prisoners of war and those missing in action. Organizers said there have been financial and logistical reasons for pulling the plug on the event after this year. But Trump tweeted Sunday that they would be returning. “The Great Patriots of Rolling Thunder WILL be coming back to Washington, D.C. next year, & hopefully for many years to come. It is...

WASHINGTON — One of the nation’s most iconic displays of support for military veterans, those missing in action and prisoners of war is coming to an end. The annual Rolling Thunder ride — which has brought thousands of bikers to the D.C. area for decades — is hitting the brakes. They won’t be riding after their May 2019 run, group officials confirmed to WTOP. The key issues cited by the group are costs and communication problems with the Pentagon Police Department. “We had so many problems in the last two or three years with the [Pentagon Police] and the parking...

Today’s post is in honor of 1st Lt. Todd J. Bryant, who was killed by an improvised explosive device during a patrol in Fallujah, Iraq on this day in 2003. Hundreds of thousands of men and women rolled into Washington, D.C., on motorcycles Sunday morning as part of an annual Memorial Day tradition that honors fallen service members. "Fantastic to have 400,000 GREAT MEN & WOMEN of Rolling Thunder in D.C. showing their patriotism. They love our Country, they love our Flag, they stand for our National Anthem! Thanks to Executive Director Artie Muller," Trump tweeted Sunday.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson joined almost one million bikers on Sunday as a rider in a massive caravan of motorcycles that rode from the Pentagon to the National Mall and the Vietnam Memorial on Sunday. A video posted on YouTube shows Tillerson posing for pictures with other bikers and preparing to mount his own bike for the trip, an annual tradition that began in the late 1980s as a way to honor the U.S. military and to support the continuing search for U.S. soldiers who remained prisoners of war or were missing in action following the Vietnam War. “O.K.,...

May the Memory Be Eternal for all the selfless men and women, our true Heroes, who gave their lives for our freedom and comfort! “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” – John 15:13 As soon as we exited the metro station, we heard the roar of thousands of motorcycles revving up their engines or simply lining up in the South and North Parking lots of the non-descript Pentagon building. It was a pleasant low seventies day but the sky was grey with heavy cloudy. We had checked the weather forecast...

OK, there were a lot of requests for a picture of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson riding his motorcycle in the Rolling Thunder Memorial Day tribute. Yesterday we shared the video from the rally location just prior to the Noon start of the kickoff ride. However, T-Rex didn’t want to create a stir or draw attention away from the purpose of the event – so he was his customary self, low key. That said, after pouring through video footage I FOUND HIM.
