Thanks to Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke, the sex life of students, and women, has become the new hot topic of conversation. Called upon to testify for the defense of Democratic leaders and their HHS contraception mandate, Fluke, in essence, argued the case that "the health" of women takes precedence over religious liberty. Rush Limbaugh has got the progressives pitching a fit over some remarks on his radio show about a Georgetown University law student named Sandra Fluke. Fluke had made the preposterous claim, while addressing House Democrats over President Obama’s rule forcing Catholic institutions to pay for contraception, that the cost of birth control was prohibitive for Georgetown law students. Limbaugh responded by calling Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” who is “having so much sex, she can’t afford the contraception; she wants you and me – the taxpayers – to pay her.” Progressive dudgeon hit the stratosphere. Several of my friends have been discussing the Fluke issue, and the larger issue of the entire Mandate. It's flamingly obvious that this is to get the discussion away from the economy in general, and gas prices in particular. And THEN a friend had the idea: USE it to turn the talk back to the Economy: How bad is the economy when a young woman can’t even afford the price of a condom? or This poor young woman can’t afford to pay for her own birth control. Four years ago, she could have. . . . Any better ideas ??
