The mopping up should take quite a few weeks, and paradoxically, casualties may be higher during this phase, as U.S. and allied troops root out the remaining cells of the Fedayeen Saddam, Republican Guard "dead-enders", and some thousands of Palestinian, Syrian, and other foreign terrorists and death squads.
