I’ve seen child pornography cases prosecuted. The psychiatrists who testified referred to “pedophiles” as being attracted to children in specific age ranges, including during and after puberty.
They never used any of these other labels.
The actual “pedophiles” had very distinct profiles and mental conditions. Some were immature and child like themselves. Others were more predatory and had been abused themselves and were repeating the behavior.
The true “pedophile” is an actual sicko, not just an opportunistic older male. Some seemed pathetic, others were calculating and dangerous.

Largely, they were who they said they were. There were records, but rarely were they scrutinized as they are today, unless they had serious criminal records. Names on things like marriage licenses weren't checked. The same with ages. If a woman said she was 21 on the marriage license, no parental permission was required for the marriage. Many underage girls just lied on the license, and it was never checked.

Was just listening to “when I’m sixty-four”. It discusses a time when the singer will be 64.

Nothing wrong with writing a song about young people in love. The “singer” doesn’t have to be the age of the performer whenever he happens to sing the song.

BTW McCartney wrote “When I’m Sixty-Four” when he was 16.
