Alec Baldwin and the crew of Rust have been accused of breaking at least four key movie industry gun safety protocols before the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins. Baldwin and his co-workers appear to have violated rules from the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, against pointing a gun at a member of the cast or crew unless absolutely necessary. The alliance's rules - last revised in April 2003 - warn: 'Refrain from pointing the firearm at anyone, including yourself. If it is absolutely necessary to do so on camera, consult the property master or other safety representative... Remember that...

My first experience with a handgun was firing my dad’s Smith & Wesson 45 ACP M1917 U.S. Army service revolver. I was a young girl in a sporting family growing up on a hobby farm in central Minnesota. Even so, when I decided to purchase my first handgun I was intimidated. Not only can the perceived legal process be daunting, so can winnowing through the colossal assortment of styles and calibers to find the perfect fit. As a child of the 1960s and 1970s, I grew up watching shows like “Bonanza,” “Gunsmoke,” and “The Wild, Wild, West,” perched on...

Have you ever shot long-range with a .22-caliber rifle? If you’re into long range shooting then you understand the many variables that can affect your ability of making an accurate shot from way out there. Having an accurate rifle is a must. The best ammunition certainly helps, but you better watch that wind drift. Power drops off quickly and those bullets drop in a hurry. From 600 yard out with a slight breeze, its not consistently accurate. 22plinkster hit it 4 out of 20 shots. At 500 yard out with minimal or no wind and with the right setup 22plinkster...

You may have seen out in the wire splitting a bullet with an axe blade by shooting at it. This usually ends up cutting the bullet in half if successful. Youtuber Slow Mo Guys took this up a notch. By utilizing super slow mo technology to view what happens when bullet meets steel. The results is astonishing and surprising. Oh yes, Slow Mo Guys not only did they just split the bullet in half but went for slicing it up into 4 pieces. Its amazing to see the ax blade wobbled once the bullet made contact. We obviously, don't recommend...

This is Baret Fawbush, here’s a short clip of him and his son spending some quality time together. Read the excerpt below on how he juggles training, spatial awareness, gun safety and its purpose into quality time with his child.. “Here’s my son Knox. He’s 4 years old. I REALLY want to get him into guns but the key is not to be forceful, so when he wants to go shooting with daddy, this is typically what we do. He stands behind me and holds on to me or just watches and tells me if I hit my target. You...

There are some asking what is “bump firing” on an AR15. So here’s the quick and dirty sort of lengthy explanation on Wiki: Bump firing is the act of using the recoil of a semi-automatic firearm to fire shots in rapid succession, which simulates the feeling of a fully automatic firearm. This process involves bracing the rifle with the non-trigger hand, releasing the grip on the firing hand (leaving the trigger finger in its normal position in front of the trigger), pushing the rifle forward in order to apply pressure on the trigger from the finger, and keeping the trigger...

World's Biggest Revolver Fired Successfully So this is fun. A guy in Poland built a gigantic revolver. Then he fired it. RT reports that "It took Mr (Ryszard) Tobys around 2,500 hours to construct, since most of the parts had to be built by hand." The revolver fires 5 oz. bullets and is supposedly certified by Guinness World Records. The Pentagon has not yet contacted Tobys for potential contracts. just an FYI for fellow Ruger 10/22 rifle owners: The AWB-caused (and lamentable) ten-year dearth of new Butler Creek 25 round capacity "Hot Lips" magazines is at an end. I recently purchased a fair number of them from Michaels of Oregon. @ $25 apiece. Expected them in 4-6 weeks, they arrived in one week. All perfectly functional. Well worth the price. Figured y'all'd want to know they're available again.
