Ruger 10/22 owners: Butler Creek is producing 25rnd "hot lips" magazines again(vanity/FYI)

just an FYI for fellow Ruger 10/22 rifle owners:

The AWB-caused (and lamentable) ten-year dearth of new Butler Creek 25 round capacity "Hot Lips" magazines is at an end.

I recently purchased a fair number of them from Michaels of Oregon. @ $25 apiece. Expected them in 4-6 weeks, they arrived in one week.

All perfectly functional. Well worth the price. Figured y'all'd want to know they're available again.

We're holding out for drum magazines.... :-) ...but seriously, these prices are good from what I've seen! Thanks! :-)

Sweet deal! I saw one at Bi-mart years ago for $17.99. I already had two so I passed on it, D'oh.
Looks like I should pick up a few more now....

Oh, you're talking about GUNS!

I was thinking, "An entire periodical devoted to Major Hoolihan?"

I saw lots of "Law Enforcement/Military Use Only" stamped AR-15 magazines, both 20 and 30 round, for sale at a gun show a couple of weekends ago ... less than $20 each, and apparently unused.

I've never had any luck with those extended 10-22 mags.

I've never tried this brand, though.

Do they function all right?

TIA.

I'm impressed with how well the half dozen I bought years ago have held up. I bought them in '94 for $12 ea.

Are they still making them with the red plastic or have you seen any with steel feeds (like the Ruger stock mags)?

That's great...just bought this gun for my son about a month ago for his bday. At that time, they only had the ten round clips.

BTW, anyone got an opinion for a good scope for this rifle?

Nice to see that other vendors are stepping up. Bill Ruger's suggestion that 'no lawful gun owner needs more than 10 rounds' is where that stupid magazine ban in the AWB came from. Ruger even to this day will not manufacture hi-cap mags or folding stocks for rifles. With friends like this in the gun industry who needs Feinstein and Brady?

I'd rather give my money to the Germans at Glock and H&K than give a cent to Ruger.

I've kept both of mine loaded and stuck together for a total of 50 rounds - for over ten years now and they still function flawlessly. They are of good design and worth it.

I didn't know Bill said that. Very disappointing. I have a two gun safes full of Ruger products. I conceal carry my P97DC in 45 ACP. I'll keep them all.

considering the limited range and long stock, any Tasco (or comparable) 3-9x scope will be more than enough

the Butler Creek 25rnd magazine I have had for 11 years has functioned flawlessly for thousands of rounds.
I assume the new ones are built to the same fine tolerances.

I have seen "steel lips" for sale, but will not cough up $90 for a 25rnd .22cal magazine... almost as pricey as replacement Calico mags, those are.

Excellent.

Time to turn my 10/22 into an 'assault weapon'.
