Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) claimed Thursday on CNN’s “The Source” that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was the wrong person for his position. Kaine said, “This is a sad but very predictable situation. I think those of us on the Armed Services Committee who looked at Pete Hegseth’s material and it was voluminous before his hearing and the vote on his confirmation. Two things were plain when he was in the uniform of the United States, he served admirably, but in his leadership positions in many organizations, since his uniform service, he’s demonstrated appalling lack of judgment, both professionally and personally....

A mountain in New Zealand is now legally recognised as a person after being granted all the rights and responsibilities of a human by the government. The new law offers extra protection for Mount Taranaki - now known as Taranaki Maunga, its Maori name - and means it has all the rights, powers, duties and responsibilities of a person. It is part of an agreement between New Zealand's government and the indigenous Maori tribes, which have long considered the 8,261ft mountain an ancestor.

Friday on ABC’s “The View,” Joy Behar told her co-hosts that the 2024 presidential election was “not normal” and President-elect Donald Trump was not a normal person. Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said, “So I have no problem with Michelle Obama not going. I think it’s critical that all former presidents and vice presidents attend. I think it signals to the world that despite a very tumultuous political season that America moves forward and we’re going to have a safe and secure transfer of power despite Donald Trump in 2020 and what he did after January 6th but as spouse she...

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that the Superior Court in Fulton County, GA, issued an order granting $21,578 “attorney’s fees and costs” in the open records lawsuit for communications Willis had with Special Counsel Jack Smith and the House January 6 Committee. The order followed a previous order finding that Willis was in default in the lawsuit. Judicial Watch filed this lawsuit in March 2024 filed after Willis falsely denied having any records responsive to Judicial Watch’s earlier Georgia Open Records Act (ORA) request for communications with Special Counsel Jack Smiths office and/or the January 6 Committee (Judicial...

British singer-songwriter Rod Stewart poked fun at former President Trump for questioning Vice President Harris’s race and ethnicity, saying he never knew Trump “was Orange” until the GOP presidential nominee suddenly “became an Orange person.” “I didn’t know he was Orange until a number of years ago, when he happened to turn Orange,” Stewart wrote in his post, which featured four headshots of Trump, side by side, appearing to show Trump’s skin tone appearing progressively more orange. “I respect either one, but he obviously doesn’t because all of a sudden he made a turn and he went — he became...

Democrats trying to dislodge Joe Biden will first have to combat the proxy commander in chief: Hunter Biden — and that’s easier said than done. With the Biden family digging in behind Joe staying put, any staffers or party grandees deputized to strong-arm Joe Biden out of being their candidate in November had better not underestimate the first son. While the focus has been on four-time Vogue cover girl Jill Biden and her screeching assurances that Joe is hale and hearty and fit for another four years, the first son has flown under the radar. But Hunter is glued to...

President Joe Biden’s aides are reportedly “scared *&*^&^%%” during briefings with him, as he refuses to take advice from anyone other than top aides. The reported leak from Politico represents frustration within the Biden campaign, which is reeling from a poor debate performance and subsequent calls for Biden to drop out of the race. “It’s like, ‘You can’t include that, that will set him off,’ or ‘Put that in, he likes that,’” one senior administration official told the outlet. “It’s a Rorschach test, not a briefing. Because he is not a pleasant person to be around when he’s being briefed....

A farmworker in Michigan is the second person to become infected with the current H5N1 bird flu virus. The farmworker had mild symptoms and has since recovered, local health officials said. According to Michigan’s chief medical executive, Natasha Bagdasarian, the current health risk to the public remains low, but the virus has circulated in dairy and poultry farms across the country this spring. Here’s what we know about the bird flu infections.

Life begins at the moment of conception. We know this to be true due to the unique genetic nature of every fetal human. I didn’t always accept this truth, however. In fact, for most of my life, I was pro-choice. I came to this realization about the nature of human life through a careful examination of embryology, rather than a careful reading of Scripture. The Bible does, however, affirm this truth. Every human being, according to Christian scripture, is a unique, intentional creation of God, even if he or she might appear to be an unplanned accident from our limited,...

Transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, in a video posted to TikTok Thursday, addressed the ongoing anti-trans controversy over her partnership with Bud Light, accusing the company of not supporting her or even reaching out after the conservative backlash. “For a company to hire a trans person and then not publicly stand by them is worse in my opinion than not hiring a trans person at all because it gives customers permission to be as transphobic and hateful as they want,” Mulvaney said in her TikTok video. “And the hate doesn’t end with me.” Bud Light, which is owned by Anheuser-Busch, partnered...

NBC News walked back a report Sunday that there was a third person in Paul Pelosi’s home during the attack. “The SFPD also says that there were only TWO people inside the Pelosi home (Paul Pelosi and DePape) when they responded, clarifying statements made at Friday’s press conference which seemed to indicate there was a third person inside the home who opened the door,” wrote NBC investigative correspondent Tom Winter on social media on Sunday afternoon.

Pablo Escobar's famed hippos - who have thrived in Colombia since the notorious drug lord was killed almost 30 years ago - got a stay of execution after a United States federal court ruled that animals can be recognized as legal persons. Judge Karen Litkovitz, of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, issued the ruling Tuesday after the nonprofit Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) filed an application seeking to allow two experts in nonsurgical sterilization of wildlife to provide testimony supporting a Colombian lawsuit to stop a cull. The Animal Legal Defense Fund made the...

Joe Biden as vice president hired one of his son Hunter’s investment-firm staffers as a personal assistant, emails from his son’s discarded laptop show. Anne Marie Person, 34, left Hunter Biden’s Rosemont Seneca Partners in 2014 to join the veep’s staff — and stayed in close contact with her former bosses, keeping them apprised of visiting dignitaries and official events they might have interest in, according to the emails. Rosemont Seneca and its affiliates have come under scrutiny, as the US Department of Justice investigates Hunter Biden’s foreign dealings as part of a possible tax-fraud probe. Hunter Biden secured meetings...
