During Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “NewsNight,” network contributor Scott Jennings took on liberal author Charles Blow, who insisted the Trump administration’s enforcement of immigration law was devoid of due process, and therefore was unconstitutional.
Partial transcript as follows:
PHILLIP: You’re describing illegal immigration, which has been around for a long time, as an invasion, which is fine for you if you want to do that, but why is that unusual that there’s a process to go through to deport people? I mean, that’s actually just how the system works.
JENNINGS: Do you know how long it takes for this process, this paperwork to get people out? The guy that we’ve all been weeping and gnashing teeth over the, you know, guy we sent to El Salvador was in the country 14 years illegally.
PHILLIP: But what about —
JENNINGS: We’ve got millions of people who have gamed this system and now —

CHARLES BLOW, AUTHOR, “THE DEVIL YOU KNOW”: You believe in the Constitution or you don’t. And —

Title 8 US Code Section 1325(a).
Don’t expect libs to know this. Or care. The doomed experiment with crime redefinitions in California proved this.
It includes the DEATH PENALTY for harboring illegal aliens that kill anybody.
That means that a large number of governors, mayors, DAs, and state AGs should be TRIED in a court of LAW and exposed to that possibility
Yup.
ill bet the harpies on CNN went ballistic! Probably they had to seek out their safe room after that comment
Think about it, the illegals harm Americans every year like the Oct 7 attack Israel experienced with over 1,110 murders + 250 hostages and scores of rapes. In fact, the numbers illegals do here is more than the Oct 7 attack.
And Israel is at war over it. When are we going to be at war to stop the attacks on us?
I wonder if teaching an economic migrant how to lie on an asylum claim would be included in the “ any person who encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States…. part of the law? It seems so to me.
Eisenhower deported 1m by just detaining and transporting. No court date or lawyers.
I thought due process is a right conveyed to the citizens of the country, not people who entered illegally.
More importantly than just a criminal, but a criminal NON-citizen (who is not afforded constitutional due process).
Since when do illegal aliens have constitutional rights? Liberals hang their hopes on this big lie.
You are correct.
So when will we begin jailing the enablers of illegal aliens? I want to see that begin! Can we get bounty rewards for turning them in? Going to need to build more jails.
Yes it was operation Wetback at least 2 million deported.
That needs to be on the nightly news for the next 3.5 years.
And on the doors of the Senate and Congress.
The American people are innately stupid. But… if The Stupid Party had any imagination and guts, this statement would be made at the beginning of every session of Congress, and at every daily WH briefing. Letters to Congress are pointless. Screeners shred everything so that they aren’t bothering the boss.
Hey, since AG Bondi is the greatest lawyer in U.S. history and Kash Patel is the nation’s top cop, they are sure to enforce the nation’s laws. (Just kidding). Our legal system is a pathetic joke.
“I thought due process..”
All sides in this topic speak imprecisely and inaccurately.
To be in the USA is a privilege. I was privileged to be born here. To be in the USA is not a “Right”. Citizens do not have a “Right” to be in the USA. It is a “Privilege”.
If a person is removed from the USA, his “Privilege” is removed, not any right. Now if the removed person is unnecessarily killed during the removal process, his right to life is violated, but that is independent of his “Privilege” being removed.
“network contributor Scott Jennings took on liberal author Charles Blow, who insisted the Trump administration’s enforcement of immigration law was devoid of due process, and therefore was unconstitutional”
Sounds like Jennings got blown away be Blow. Should have known better.
Stating the obvious.
