According to the New York Times, the FBI interviewed Trump’s White House Counsel Pat Cipollone and deputy counsel Patrick Philbin about the so-called ‘classified documents’ stored at Mar-a-Lago. ..... Snip..... According to the Times, Cipollone and Philbin were interviewed by the FBI over the documents retrieved by the National Archives. “Mr. Cipollone and Mr. Philbin are the most senior people who worked for Mr. Trump who are known to have been interviewed by investigators after the National Archives referred the matter to the Justice Department this year.” the New York Times reported. “Mr. Philbin was interviewed in the spring, according...

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal grand jury investigating efforts to undo the results of the 2020 presidential election has subpoenaed the White House counsel under then-President Donald Trump and his top deputy, according to a person familiar with the matter. The subpoenas to Pat Cipollone and Patrick Philbin suggest an intensifying Justice Department investigation into the events surrounding the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. The grand jury subpoenas were confirmed to The Associated Press by a person familiar with the matter who insisted on anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

Deputy White House Counsel Patrick Philbin shredded House Intelligence Committee Chairman and lead Impeachment Manager Adam Schiff (D-CA) for his contact with the Ukranian whistleblower, which led to the impeachment inquiry, and eventually the current trial. As it currently sits, we are still in the dark about what role Schiff and his staff played in the whistleblower's inquiry. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) presented the question on behalf of Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO). "Is it true that Shawn Misco and Abigail Grace and the alleged whistleblower were employed by or detailed by the National Security Council in...

Video at link, Sen Barrasso segment begins at 5:04 min. On Saturday, President Donald Trump's defense team had the opportunity to poke holes in the House Democrats' impeachment case. One of the topics the defense team instantly ran with was House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff's (D-CA) totally bogus narrative of what took place in Trump's July 25th call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), when the defense team played the video of Schiff "reading" his version of the call transcript, "the blood drained from Adam Schiff's face." "Today we heard a presentation that was...

Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) says he saw blood drain from Adam Schiff’s face when Trump’s lawyers confronted him about his fake call and transcript. Barrasso was seated in the second row, per the Senate seating chart. Deputy White House Counsel Mike Purpura opened the White House defense of President Donald Trump with video of Adam Schiff’s fake call and transcript he read during the House impeachment proceedings. Mike Purpura played the video immediately after taking the podium on Saturday. And there Schiff was lying his face off for the whole world to see. Schiff completely fabricated transcript of Trump’s phone...

The TDS-addled viewers that comprise the audience for MSNBC don’t want honest appraisals of the strength of the case presented by the House impeachment managers. They have become a cult founded on the belief that Donald Trump somehow is a threat to the Republic, though the concentration camps, wars blundered into, and economic depression so confidently predicted have nowhere manifested themselves in this dimension of reality. The only apocalypse in sight is a potential crushing Democrat defeat at the polls in November once voters focus on whether their lives are better off now than they were 4 years ago. President...

As part of President Donald Trump's impeachment defense team, Alan Dershowitz is expected to argue on behalf of the president at the Senate trial early next week. But in a 2016 book he authored, the famed defense attorney called Trump a “destabilizing and unpredictable candidate,” warning that the then-presidential candidate “openly embraces fringe conspiracy theories peddled by extremists.” Dershowitz wrote those statements in his book titled “Electile Dysfunction: A Guide for Unaroused Voters.” In a phone call with NBC about his comments in the 2016 book, Dershowitz clarified his views about the president. “I was campaigning for Hillary Clinton at...

My last column was about “Democrat Weapons of Mass Distraction.” Now add a sister problem to the list: “Weapons of Mass Distortion.” Impeachment serves both purposes- distraction and distortion. This impeachment thing is the wackiest, strangest, funniest story in the history of politics. Democrats want to impeach a sitting president for investigating and exposing a crime…while they elect as president the guy who actually committed the crime. Huh? Does anyone in the media ever point out how absurd this is? Of course not. This is the definition of distortion. But what if the shoe was on the other foot? What...

Adam Schiff! Masterfully leading astray the anti-Trumpers and his Party’s faithful What does it say about our country, when one political Party, the Democratic Party, deeply involved with the corruption in Ukraine, uses it as part of their effort to try and discredit the other Party’s candidate for President and then President, particularly after he begins to look into such corruption? Getting a majority in the House of Representatives, this Party, with zero support from the minority Party, voted in December to recommend to the Senate the President’s removal from office, and this week spent four days on national television...

Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst on Saturday reacted to the White House counsel’s defense against impeaching President Donald Trump, saying they “shredded” the House managers’ case in just two hours. “Within two hours I thought that the White House Counsel and their team entirely shredded the case that has been presented by the house managers,” Ernst said to reporters on Capitol Hill after listening to Trump’s lawyers.

You know it’s bad for the Dems when even CNN admits President Trump is winning in the impeachment trial. CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin admitted on Saturday that President Trump and the Republicans are destroying the Democrats. “I just think that the Republicans are winning here. The President is winning here,” CNN’s chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said on Saturday.

Members of the Trump defense team saw their two-hour presentation Saturday as a preview of coming attractions — a way to give senators a sense of the president's defense while also suggesting there is much more to come when the impeachment trial resumes Monday. They were also acutely aware that, after 23 hours of the Democratic case against the president made over the course of three days, many senators were just tired. Even if the first day of presentation had not come on a low-rating Saturday, Republicans would have stayed away from forcing senators into another late night. Lawmakers were...

Several days ago we anticipated a potentially important point we hoped would start the impeachment defense for President Donald Trump. Today, attorney Patrick Philbin delivered. The issue is a critical constitutional component that needed emphasis, and it is good to see pundits finally starting to realize the significance. White House Counsel Patrick Philbin explains why House subpoenas were illegitimate: the subpoena power was never authorized; the initiating subpoena power was never voted on. Additionally, and specifically by design, absent a penalty for non-compliance, which factually makes a subpoena a ‘subpoena’, the Executive Branch had no constitutional pathway or process to...

President Trump has locked down the defense team that will be representing him during his impeachment trial, as House Democrats move Wednesday to send the articles of impeachment against him to the Senate. The four-person legal team is made up of several top White House attorneys, with an administration official telling Fox News that other lawyers could cycle through or be on the floor in a support capacity during the Senate trial. Here are the four main attorneys that will make up Trump’s defense team: Pat Cipollone Cipollone, the White House counsel, will take the helm in commanding Trump’s defense....
