Stupid politicians are listening to stupid anarchists who want license to rampage across urban areas without repercussions. Law enforcement is under violent siege as they battle these monsters night after night, month after month. Police are leaving the profession in droves; not just because of the working conditions, but because stupid city governments refuse to support them. But why is history so important? In this highly connected age of the Internet of Things, why is it necessary to understand anything that happened before the invention of smartphones? Confession time. It always bugs me when I see a politician darken the doorway of a church. This is counterintuitive, of course. I mean, here's the one door politicians should darken more frequently, in my opinion. Most politicians need a whole lotta churchin'. But the reason it bugs me is I always wonder if they're darkening that door for sincere spiritual reasons, or for photo ops. Too often it's proven to be the latter, not the former.
