CHICAGO, Illinois — The headline of another newspaper yesterday was a self-fulfilling prophesy: "No red carpet, no yellow ribbons for Mark Jimenez (MJ)." If the information of the US Bureau of Federal Prisons is to be believed, the much-anticipated return of the former Manila congressman on Tuesday, Nov. 22, will have to wait. His projected release is reset to Dec. 13, 2005. In a previous posting of Jimenez’s release by the US Bureau of Federal Prisons, his original "projected release was Nov. 5, 2005." This was exactly the day of the 20th month of his imprisonment in the Federal...

Te retirement tour of Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is nearing its emotional conclusion, and the universal praise for the accomplishments of perhaps the most beloved ballplayer ever to call Fenway Park home has been lavished on Big Papi from opposing teams, fans, and a press corps that has long elevated the slugger to folk hero status. You can't argue with Ortiz's legacy in Boston. He was a monster producer in all three of their World Series championships since breaking an 86-year "curse" in 2004, including a number of iconic game-winning hits, and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of...

BOSTON - The Boston Red Sox canceled a David Ortiz bobblehead promotion Tuesday night when the figurine turned out to be "racially insensitive," said team president Sam Kennedy. The bobblehead depicts Ortiz addressing fans at Fenway Park following the Boston Marathon bombings, but Kennedy said it didn't much resemble the retiring slugger and was not fit for distribution. Kennedy saw the final version of the bobblehead for the first time Tuesday afternoon after they were delivered. "My two immediate reactions were first, it was a really inaccurate portrayal of what he looks like," Kennedy told The Associated Press. "My personal...

Boston Red Sox fans who attend Tuesday night's game against the New York Yankees will no longer receive David Ortiz bobbleheads. The team promised to distribute Ortiz bobbleheads to the first 15,000 fans entering Fenway Park before Boston's game against the Yankees, but Red Sox president Sam Kennedy said he elected to postpone the promotion after doing a quality check. "I thought the bobbleheads were an inaccurate portrayal of David," Kennedy said. "To go further, I thought the facial features were racially insensitive."

Take a look back in mixed martial arts history at Genki Sudo’s post-fight celebrations. The cerebral “Neo-Samurai†would raise a flag sporting many other nations’ flags, with bold text that read, “We are All One.†MMA has reached increased visibility across the globe since Sudo’s time. With America’s divisive 2016 presidential election in full swing, it’s time to join an international chorus -- it includes France’s prime minister, the United Nations’ human rights commissioner, Canada’s foreign affairs minister, Holland’s foreign minister and many, many more -- in condemning Donald Trump’s candidacy. Trump’s absurd quotes are proving the American political process...

US Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz stated that the Boston Marathon Bombing “was not a religious crime…it was a political crime” at a press conference on Friday. "I need money". Greedy illegal alien Roy Ortiz is suing those who saved his life.- by Brian Hayes | Top Right NewsLast month we profiled an illegal alien felon who made nearly $200,000 by mass-filing frivolous lawsuits against L.A. restaurants. But that was just a creep trying to game the system, and the system (shamefully) letting him. This is truly disgusting. An illegal alien in Colorado is suing several first responders who took part in rescuing him last September, when he became trapped in his car during a flash flood. You heard that right. They saved Roy Ortiz' life --...

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Jose Guerena Ortiz was sleeping after an exhausting 12-hour night shift at a copper mine. His wife, Vanessa, had begun breakfast. Their 4-year-old son, Joel, asked to watch cartoons. They were a sheriff's department SWAT team who had come to execute a search warrant. But Vanessa Guerena insisted she had no idea, when she heard a "boom" and saw a dark-suited man pass by...

Rep. Solomon Ortiz conceded to his Republican challenger Monday night, according to a regional representative of the National Republican Congressional Committee who is in Texas’ 27th district. The Farenthold victory brings the net Republican House pickups this cycle to 62 seats, with four House races still outstanding from the midterm elections. The Republican was on Capitol Hill last week for freshman orientation. Ortiz asked for the recount, which cost him $23,500, after the original unofficial...

U.S. Rep. Solomon P. Ortiz’s petition for a recount of votes cast for the U.S. House of Representatives from District 27 has been denied. Ortiz has until Nov. 24 to amend the petition and submit a corrected one. McGeehan notified Ortiz in a letter dated today that he failed to include all precinct polls in District 27 in the requested recount and that his deposit of $11,500 was not sufficient and instead should be $23,500. Ortiz also failed to note...

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - U.S. Rep. Solomon Ortiz picked up seven votes after a bag of previously uncounted ballots was discovered in his South Texas district. But the Corpus Christi Democrat still trails Republican ex-small business-owner Blake Farenthold by seven votes. Ortiz has refused to concede a House seat he's held for nearly three decades and is mulling whether to seek a formal recount. Seven ballots, all marked for the Democrat, where discovered in Nueces County and certified at the courthouse in Corpus Christi - evidence, Ortiz says, that the race remains too close to call. The seven votes leaves...
