One police officer was killed and two others injured by a gunman who allegedly took ICU staff hostage Saturday at York, Pennsylvania’s UPMC Memorial Hospital.
Breitbart News noted the incident occurred Saturday morning and that multiple reports indicated the gunman was “neutralized” by law enforcement. However, reports on injuries and the extent of said injuries were unclear.
CNN is now reporting that one person, a police officer, was killed during the incident and two other officers were injured. Both injured officers are in stable condition.

Id love to know his immigration status
The perp has a record...
Very sad. The hospital was certainly a “gun free” zone. But as we all know, that means nothing to criminals.
As a side note, a big city hospital near me now has its own police force. I’m not talking about armed security guards. I’m talking about certified police officers.
That’s how bad it’s getting. I suppose the next step will be to close the hospital. Then everyone in the neighborhood will complain.
Gang related shooting?
Hospitals can be hot spots when one wounded GSW gang banger is taken in and rival gangs show up to finish the job.
Born in this York hospital
“But as we all know, that means nothing to criminals.”
oh, but it does: they know they’ll be only armed civilians ... so much safer to shoot up the place that way ...
White Nationalist Terrorism we hear so much about.

That’s why many city hospitals now check in all patients under assumed names. It makes it tougher for gang bangers to locate their wounded targets.
A friend of mine was in such a hospital for a surgery (not gang-related at all). Let’s say his name was Jim Smith. The hospital booked him in as Roger Brown.
Does anyone here watch the show “The PITT”? It’s a about a 15-hour shift in Pittsburgh trauma emergency room. The wait time in the several hours and then once treated, there are no beds to move the patients into if they need one.
I hope this nut job isn’t a case of art imitating real life.
I started it last night and immediately burned through the first four episodes!
I was a big fan of ER back in the 90s, at least the early seasons with Clooney. I like this show a lot so far!
Another article said he was angry over the care of a family member who was treated for a terminal condition and died in this ICU.
We’re all caught up at my house. I was a HOUSE fan and never got into ER. But this show is captivating.
Pennsylvania is actually rather 2A friendly. It’s an open-carry state, and it’s easy to get a concealed carry permit. A few cities have tried to enact anti-2A laws, but if I recall correctly the courts have struck most of them down.
But private property rights trump the 2A. And that’s how it should be - the Bill of Rights protects you against government overreach only.
So if a hospital or a business foolishly wants to put up a “gun free zone” sign, so be it.
So far, so good. It can be a bit heavy on the wokeness (white frat boys stole the ambulance? Seriously? Obligatory tranny misgendering. Angry white patient in the waiting room unhappy about so many non-white doctors...) but then again, ER was often woke as well back in the 90s. And this show is really just a continuation of ER only they changed the name of Noah Wylie's character from Dr. Carter to Dr. Rabinavitch. It's pretty much the same creative team behind the original ER to the point that HBO is being sued by the estate of Michael Crichton.
It is kinda strange though now watching shows that were obviously greenlit, written, and filmed during the Biden/Harris era and now seem so out of place after the post-Trump vibe shift. Seeing a lot of this. I suppose it's going to take Hollywood a bit to catch up to the current realities.
Anyhow, I'm enjoying the show. I like most everything about it from the pace, to the storytelling, the filming, etc. even if I roll my eyes at the occasional libtard sentiments.
Agreed. I can’t stand the meddling Intern that dropped the scalpel on the foot of the other doctor and keep hoping she makes a huge medical mistake and gets fired.
Haven't gotten to that part yet! I'm only partway through Episode 6 right now. I'll get caught up later.
I will give HBO props though for giving us a whopping 15 hour-long episodes this season! One of my big gripes with streaming TV has been what I perceive to be a gradual decline in the number of episodes per season. Eight to ten seems to be the norm these days and then upwards of a two year wait for the next season. And then by the time the next season arrives, you have to watch the previous season over again because you've forgotten everything that happened!
Fifteen episodes is pretty solid these days. By comparison, ER averaged about 22 episodes a season back in the 90s-00s with only a few months of waiting for the next season to follow.
