A LEADING insurgent has been captured by Iraqi soldiers in Baghdad's mainly Shi'ite Kadhimiyah district in a raid during the security clampdown in the capital. Nuri Abu Haider Al-Oqabi, an alleged "leader of an assassination cell in Baghdad", was captured today in the district's Shuala neighbourhood, the US military said. Oqabi "recently became the head of a punishment committee that executes judgment on perceived enemies of his organisation", the military said.
