John McCain's campaign has shifted its focus to exaggerating or falsifying reports that Barack Obama associated with any number of dangerous characters, all debunked repeatedly by reliable sources. Voters are paying better attention this year, and McCain is still behind in the polls. The question now is whether McCain will pursue his current scorched earth campaign.
