There are 716 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19, up from 452 on July 16, officials said. The county also reported four new deaths, bringing the total to 24,628 fatalities since the pandemic began early last year. On Saturday, L.A. County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer warned that the Delta variant was "one of the most aggressive and infectious respiratory diseases known and currently makes up over 80% of sequenced cases in L.A. County." Although cases remain at a lower point than they have been during any of the previous surges, the rate of increase between July 3 and 16 was...

Before his corpse was dumped in a shallow grave 50 miles north of Los Angeles, Mauricio Ismael Gonzalez-Ramirez was held prisoner at one of the hundreds of black-market pot farms that have exploded across California’s high desert in the last several years, authorities say. He worked in what has become California’s newest illegal marijuana haven: the Mojave Desert. A world away from the lush forest groves of the “Emerald Triangle” of Northern California, this hot, dry, unforgiving climate has attracted more than a thousand marijuana plantations that fill the arid expanse between the Antelope Valley and the Colorado River. It’s...

In an unsigned order, the court sent the case back to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit with instructions to vacate its judgments. It also instructed a district court in the case to "consider what further proceedings are necessary and appropriate in light of the changed circumstances in this case," namely that Trump is no longer president. A physician, two nurses, a professional athlete, a drug dealer and a lawyer who had nodded off in court. Teenagers, specifically a 14- and a 15-year-old. And a 7-year-old who got into a stash in her mother's purse. These are some of the types of people Dr. Christopher Colwell, the chief of emergency medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, has recently seen in the emergency room for medical issues related to fentanyl use and overdoses. "That's just in the last couple weeks," Colwell said. "It’s really remarkable because it runs the entire spectrum. This affects all walks of life,...

Licensed marijuana stores in Washington state can offer free joints to promote on-site COVID-19 vaccine clinics, officials said Monday. The state Liquor and Cannabis Board is calling the effort the “Joints for Jabs” program. The board says licensed adult-use marijuana retail shops can give away a single pre-rolled joint to anyone over 21 who gets a shot at an on-site vaccine clinic held by July 12. The board has already allowed breweries, wineries and restaurants to offer free drinks in exchange for proof of vaccination — though alcohol-serving establishments have not had to host a clinic on-site to give out...

Something is clearly wrong with Joe Biden. While speaking at a roundtable hurricane briefing from FEMA, Biden began by pushing talking points about how he "insists on nothing less than readiness" and that he plans to double the money the U.S. government will spend to help communities prepare for extreme weather events. When he attempted to give his thoughts at the FEMA meeting, that's when things got a little jumbled. “But, uh, there’s, you know, there’s to be, you know, beginning, uh, this effort for 2021 is, uh…” Biden stumbled. "I think we've learned a few lessons from last year,...

PHILADELPHIA - In a cramped house with mice in the kitchen and music booming from cars outside, Keldy Mabel Gonzales Brebe lays bare her three-year journey from Honduras to the United States and all that lies ahead to adapt to life as an immigrant. She fled the Central American nation with her family and a price on her head to seek asylum at the U.S. border. Instead, U.S. officials separated her from her children, jailed and deported her under President Trump’s “zero-tolerance” policy to prosecute adults entering the country illegally. While the boys were allowed to live with relatives in...

The Brooklyn man accused of beating a Jewish man in a hate attack in Midtown proclaimed from his jail cell that he would “do it again,” prosecutors said on Saturday. Waseem Awawdeh, 23, was held on $10,000 bail in the Thursday attack, in which he is accused of beating Joseph Borgen, 29, with crutches and punching, kicking and pepper-spraying him. “If I could do it again, I would do it again,” he told one of his jailers, according to a prosecutor at Awawdeh’s Saturday arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court. “I have no problem doing it again.” The attack was unprovoked,...

The term ‘gaslighting’ has been making its rounds lately, and was one of the most searched relationship terms on Google in 2020. While it’s possible to gaslight in almost any situation, it’s most common in relationships. But what exactly is gaslighting? In short, it’s a form of emotional or psychological abuse where one party says and does things to manipulate their partner in order to gain power over them . As the word suggests, it’s akin to the situation where one pours gas over a fire so that it gets so out of control that you have no idea what’s...

More than 120 retired flag officers are calling on Americans to rally and reject the nation’s excessive embrace of a radical leftist agenda, particularly the “antiracism” efforts the left weaponizes to suppress dissent. “Our nation is in deep peril. We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776,” wrote the prominent group of 124 retired generals and admirals. “The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs. supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty.” The signatories, which include President Ronald Reagan’s former National Security Adviser John Poindexter, President...

For the Facebook Advisory Board to continue the ban on President Donald J. Trump posting content on Facebook and Instagram, while Facebook accepts ad revenue and content from drug and human traffickers who funneled kids into the Biden administration’s unsafe and unsanitary kid cages along our border with Mexico, is the height of hypocrisy and pulls the curtain back and shows Mark Zuckerberg is more interested in power and profit than protecting people from harm. As Fox Business reported the dictatorial decision: “The Board has upheld Facebook’s decision on January 7, 2021, to restrict then-President Donald Trump’s access to posting...

Open borders advocate and Trump-hater Sean Buchanan was killed by an illegal alien that had taken advantage of the open borders that Buchanan championed. I feel no sorrow for him, although I have much sympathy for his wife and 5 children. Criminal illegal alien Ramirez Valiente was driving drunk, which his friends say he often does because he is a raging alcoholic, when he crossed into Buchanan’s lane and hit his motorcycle, killing him. Valiente was driving with a suspended license for previous infractions. Ironically, he who lives by the illegal alien died by the illegal alien.

Mike Cernovich, author, journalist, and producer of Hoaxed, said he was considering running governor of California on Friday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow, author of Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption. A poll of registered voters in California published last week had three percent of respondents selecting Cernovich as the most likely person they would support to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom in the event of a gubernatorial recall. Republican candidate Caitlyn Jenner received five percent. You’re a viable gubernatorial candidate out in California, which is super cool,” Marlow stated....
