This was one of her lines at last night’s roast of Couric, but I don’t think she’s joking. Leave it to Aunt Bethany to miss the point of the evening, just like she’s been missing the point of asking useful, probative questions at the daily White House presser for decades. There’s an interesting admission buried here: Is she implying that McCain/Palin would have won but for the Couric trainwreck? I’ve never heard anyone on either side seriously suggest that.
