During a meeting in Washington between Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana and U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, a first-of-its-kind global parliamentary initiative was launched: an international effort to recommend former and current U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise also participated in the meeting. Two native Hawaiian men were sentenced to prison terms for a federal hate crime in the brutal beating of a white man who was trying to move into their remote Maui village. A jury in November found that Kaulana Alo-Kaonohi and Levi Aki Jr. attacked Christopher Kunzelman because of his race — punching, kicking and beating him with a shovel in 2014, when he tried to move into their neighborhood of Kahakuloa.

Another Israeli has been murdered by Arabs, in circumstances that appear to go beyond the criminal. The body of Tzion Ohana, 45, of Adam - a Yesha community just northeast of Jerusalem - was discovered during the night after he had not been seen since Dec. 18. Police and GSS investigators traced calls made on Tzion's cellular phone to the nearby Arab village of Jaba, where they arrested one suspect.
