A Wendy Davis staffer once pleaded guilty to posing as former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele online in order to illegally obtain his credit report. Lauren Weiner, who was a researcher for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in 2005, pleaded guilty in 2006 to obtaining Steele´s credit report by fraud.
