The AP is reporting that Sen. Dianne Feinstein, chair of the Senate Rules Committee, says the Senate should seat former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris. Feinstein said late today that, while Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is tainted by corruption charges, he still has the right to appoint someone to President-elect Barack Obama's former seat. The Rules Committee which she chairs decides whether Burris is qualified to serve. Feinstein said that blocking Burris would have ramifications for other governors' appointments.
