One New York man went to the hospital for a rash and died in the waiting room during an 8-hour-wait for care. 30-year-old John Verrier went to St.Barnabas Hospital's ER for a rash on Sunday nigh at 10 p.m. At 6:40 in the morning, a security guard discovered a dead 30-year-old John Verrier slumped over in his chair. A worker from St.Barnabas Hospital says that he was cold, blue, and stiff and says that he may have been dead for several hours.

David Remnick of The New Yorker showed up on PBS’s Charlie Rose Monday night to discuss his long, mostly sympathetic profile of Barack Obama from the January 27 issue of the magazine. Near the end of the interview, Rose focused in on the president’s reported desire to be “big.†The host wondered, “[W]hat's his definition of 'big,' and does he believe in his deep recesses of his own mind that the chance of that has slipped away?†Remnick replied that no, Obama does not think his chance of being “big†has slipped away. The editor then rattled off a laundry...

Saying that life is hard is kind of like saying the sun is hot, water is wet, or noting that politicians lie a lot. It's so obvious that anyone who's paying attention already knows that it's true. That being said, life's even harder when you're working under false assumptions that have been drilled into you by your teachers, college professors, Hollywood, and politicians in D.C. Much of what liberalism drums into the young skulls full of mush simply isn't true and millions of lives have been ruined by people finding it out the hard way. The good news is that...

David Kurtz of the lefty website TPM -- to his credit -- published an email he received from a young reader living in New York City. The 32-year-old correspondent wrote that much to his chagrin as an ardent backer of the president and his unpopular healthcare law, he's unable to afford its price tag. He suggests that his personal situation exemplifies the broader problems the program will have attracting the participation of young, healthy people: I'm a 32 year-old healthy male that wants, but can't afford, Obamacare. I think the law is a step in the right direction, it just...

One in seven Obamacare navigators in New Mexico is listed in the FBI’s crime information database. But these “experts” are here to serve you.New Mexico Watchdog reported: An investigation by the National Review, one of the leading conservative media outlets in the country, reports that one in seven navigators in New Mexico hired to help consumers work their way through the Affordable Care Act appeared on the FBI’s National Crime Information Center database. But an official with the state’s Affordable Care Act Implementation Projects emphasizes that while a person’s name may turn up on the FBI database, it does not mean they pose any risk to...

Minnesota health insurers say they still aren't getting complete information about enrollees in MNsure, the state's health insurance exchange, and the delays could prevent people from having coverage Jan. 1. Data being sent to the health plans contain inaccuracies, omissions and in some cases conflicting information about which policy an enrollee is selecting, according to a letter sent to state officials Friday by Julie Brunner, executive director of the Minnesota Council of Health Plans, a trade group. Insurers also say time is growing short to manually fix the problems -- particularly with an expected surge

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is a vocal critic of President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act and its glitch-stricken website, HealthCare.gov, repeatedly calling for repeal of the law "root and branch." "At this point, senators from both parties can agree: HealthCare.gov is a rolling disaster. Every day seems to bring more, newer comic calamity," McConnell, R-Ky., said Oct. 29 in a Senate floor speech. "The only thing the website seems to be good for right now is creating punch lines for late-night comedians." However, since 2011, McConnell has accepted more than $75,000 in political donations from health care giant...

The failure of the Obamacare website took many by surprise. But Glenn Beck thought there’s at least one person who saw the trainwreck coming: President Obama. Beck called Obama a “Marxist revolutionary” and argued that he knew all along the health care site wasn’t ready and just didn’t care. New reports show that the White House knew the website would have a bumpy rollout three yeas ago, and Beck said the inability of the White House to handle this means that the health care information of anyone who signs up on the site is “not secure.” If Obama had done...

Put simply the program is built on a mountain of false assumptions and is covered by a terrain of unanticipated incentives. Any cleared-eyed observer should conclude that it is perfectly designed to raise the costs of care and wreck the federal budget. However, like just about every other complicated problem that bedevils the nation, the public has become far too caught up in the politics and has ignored the horrific details. The real shock of Obamacare is not the unbelievable ineptitude in which it was launched, but the naiveté in which it was designed. The only thing worse than the...

At the risk of sounding like a fortune-teller or a braggart, WE TOLD YOU THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN! We see something new every day out of Obamacare. Many of us tried to warn the rest of America that Obamacare was not going to be good for our country. We were shouted down and accused of racism. We were told we were against providing a basic right, ie. health care, to Americans who had no health care insurance. When we tried to point out some of the things contained in the Affordable Care Act, we were called liars. President Obama...

Some school districts and state and local governments are limiting part-time workers’ hours or letting them go to comply with the Affordable Care Act. And it’s not all political. This month in Delaware, which has embraced the health law, officials decided to limit all casual and seasonal employees, including substitute teachers, to fewer than 30 hours a week to save on health insurance. About 376 workers from education, corrections, and homeland security agencies could be affected. In Pennsylvania, at least 10 school districts have slashed hours or outsourced their workers, including bus drivers, food service workers, and instructional aides. In...

Obamacare’s glitches are here to stay according to House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan. In an exclusive interview with CNBC’s Larry Kudlow, set to air Tuesday night on “The Kudlow Report,” Ryan said the problems with the Affordable Care Act extend far beyond website malfunctions. “It’s more than the website,” Ryan said. “It’s because this law itself is built from an architecture, a foundation, that’s just not workable.” Ryan said he sat through several House Committee Oversight meetings in which the administration failed to answer fundamental questions on the rollout of the Affordable Care Act. “The point is they said...

A series of leaked emails from House Speaker John Boehner’s chief of staff, Mike Sommers, show that the Speaker may have coordinated with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) to exempt Congress from Obamacare. The emails were leaked Tuesday by David Krone, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s chief of staff, who actually has a history of this sort of thing. The leaks, which are a major taboo in Washington, show Rep. Boehner (R-Ohio) worked behind the scenes earlier this year to address confusion over a provision in the Affordable Care Act that would force members of Congress and their aides...
