Twitter has banned both the official verified account for the Proud Boys and the account belonging to their founder, comedian and CRTV host Gavin McInnes. Twitter also banned the accounts belonging to The Proud Boys Girls and Kyle Chapman, who is better known online as Based Stickman.The suspensions are permanent, though no reason was provided. Dayanna Volitich, the Crystal River Middle School history teacher who is under investigation for allegedly expressing white nationalist and alt-right views on a podcast she hosted under a pseudonym, has resigned, according to Citrus County Schools. In March 2018, a report of Volitich hosting a podcast called "Unapologetic" under the name "Tiana Dalichov" surfaced on the Huffington Post website. At the time, Volitich was a Social Studies teacher at the school. Twitter is cracking down on hate speech and not just by looking at its own site. In what amounts to a major shift in Twitter policy, the company announced on Friday that it will be monitoring user's behavior "on and off the platform" and will suspend a user's account if they affiliate with violent organizations, according to an update to Twitter's Help Center on Friday. Following Richard Spencer’s Thursday talk at the University of Florida, a trio of Spencer’s supporters opened fire just outside Gainesville, Fla., during an altercation with those opposing Spencer’s presence. According to a statement from the Gainesville Police Department, Tyler Tenbrink, William Fears, and Colton Fears – all from Texas – were arrested and charged with attempted homicide.
