Bly, one of the first “girl stunt reporters” made an indelible impact on American journalism, despite being initially seen as clever marketing tool by the news industry. Born Elizabeth Jane Cochran in 1864, she was one of five children between father Michael Cochran and mother Elizabeth Cochran.
