The United States is a nation of immigrants no longer, at least according to the mission statement for the federal agency that issues green cards and visas. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services revised its mission statement Thursday to remove the phrase “nation of immigrants,” director L. Francis Cissna told staffers in a email. Despite general resistence, representatives of tribes in the US recently gave their blessing for DNA analysis of the remains of a Stone Age child. Research conducted on the boy's genes indicate that Native Americans have European roots. It must have been a pretty special child, otherwise the two-year old wouldn't have been buried in such a ceremonious manner. The boy was sprinkled with celebratory red dust and given distinctive stone artifacts for his last journey. The characteristic fluting of the stone weapons serve as archeological evidence that the boy, who died some 12,600 years ago, came from the Clovis culture....

BOSTON (AP) - An immigration hearing for President Barack Obama's African aunt has ended without an immediate decision in her bid for asylum. Kenya native Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUH'-nee awn-YAHN'-goh) testified for about two-and-a-half hours Thursday at the closed proceedings in U.S. Immigration Court. Two doctors also testified in support of the case her lawyer said includes medical reasons to stay in the U.S. Attorneys for Onyango and the government have 30 days to file closing briefs. The hearing could continue on May 25 if the judge does not issue a ruling before then.
