Toblerone, the iconic triangular shaped chocolate bars have been made halal to meet the demands of the Islamic market. The change, that silently took place in April this year, has now been revealed to Swiss newspaper Blick. Owned by the American food company Mondelez, all Toblerone bars are being produced in the Swiss city of Bern. A spokeswoman of the company explains to Blick that since April the sweets comply with the Islamic purity law and ingredients and production now meet halal standards.
