Cairo, Egypt-AP -- There are celebrations reported across the Arab world, after the news of more American casualties in Iraq. Resistance to the occupation is applauded by some who see it as proof that Iraqis weren't totally humiliated by the relative ease of the U-S-led coalition's toppling of Saddam Hussein. Many Arabs had warned an invasion of Iraq could drag the region into chaos. In Damascus today, foreign ministers from countries bordering Iraq again called on the U-S to restore order in that country.

An Army general is under attack from the media. His offense: saying God deals in the affairs of man. Lt. General William G. Boykin, a decorated U.S. Army officer, is in trouble for remarks he made about Islam and Christianity. PORTLAND -- The final two defendants in the alleged terrorist cell known as the "Portland Seven" have pleaded guilty and agreed to serve 18 years in federal prison. Patrice Ford and Jeffrey Battle were among seven Portland area residents who had been charged with plotting to wage war against the United States. The charge carried a maximum sentence of 20 years and a $250,000 fine. They had initially also been charged with money laundering, supporting terrorism and other offenses.
